APPOINTMENTS

For a three-minute appointment, please follow this link and complete the online audition form: http://www.studiotenn.com/audition-sign-ups . Once you fill out the online form, you will be contacted via email by our audition coordinator. If you do not have access to Internet or email, you may call 615-541-8200 to schedule an appointment. Please only call if you DO NOT have access to Internet or email. Equity Members without appointments will be seen throughout each audition day, as time permits.

CONTRACT

SPT Tier 7; weekly minimum: $530

SEEKING

Equity actors and actor/singers for various roles in the upcoming season.

PREPARATION

Auditions should total no more than 3 minutes, and can include any of the following options:
1) A brief song
2) One 2 minute monologue
3) 16 bars of a song AND a 1 minute monologue

PLEASE NOTE: Scenes and songs from this year’s productions will be available on our website by March 19 as an alternative to using your own material. If this is your first time auditioning with us, we encourage you to audition with your own material.
If singing, bring sheet music in the correct key; accompanist is provided (all days), but will not transpose. Please do not sing A Cappella . A reader is provided to read sides.
Plan to arrive 15 minutes before your appointment, and bring a full size headshot & resume, stapled back-to-back. We will not be able to print material for you on site.

OTHER

Non-equity actors will be seen when no Equity Member is auditioning or
waiting. AT THIS TIME, WE ARE NOT CASTING CHILD ROLES. NON-AEA ACTORS MUST BE HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS OR OLDER TO AUDITION.

An Equity Monitor will not be provided. The producer will run all aspects of this audition.

BELLE (CAST - SEEKING UNDERSTUDY ONLY) - Vibrant, intelligent girl who wants more out of life. She has view an optimistic, fun-loving point of and is caring and eager to experience life out of an ordinary existence.

BEAST - A prince transformed into a beast because of his lack of compassion towards others. Hot-tempered, commanding but has a warm, loving heart on the inside.

GASTON - An egotistical, masculine villain whose main goal is to marry Belle. Manipulative yet charming Male, 21-45/Vocal range: E4 to A2/All ethnicities

MAURICE - Belle’s father. A child at heart who is fun-loving and eccentric. He is an inventor in his own world.

COGSWORTH - An enchanted mantle clock who is uptight, strict and punctual. He is the hard-working, faithful and the head of Beast’s household

MRS. POTTS - An enchanted maternal teapot who is warm-heated, loyal and playful.

LUMIERE - An enchanted candelabra who is suave, debonair, loyal and a steadfast servant.

BABETTE - An enchanted feather-duster who is the object of Lumiere’s affections. She is saucy, playful, gorgeous and the seductive French maid.

MADAME DE LA GRANDE BOUCHE - An enchanted wardrobe who is a former opera diva. She is caring, refined, and larger than life.

LEFOU - Gaston’s sidekick. He is loyal, energetic and optimistic but not the smartest guy in the room. Male, 18-45/Vocal range: F#4 to B2/All ethnicities

MONSIEUR D’ARQUE - The proprietor of the local insane asylum. He is dark, sinister and a scheming villain who helps Gaston with his plan to marry Belle.

DANCE ENSEMBLE - To play: wolves, enchanted objects, townspeople. Strong, advanced jazz and tap dancers. Featured prominently throughout the show. Can sing in 2 and 3-part harmonies.

ADULT ENSEMBLE - To play: wolvers, enchanted objects, townspeople. Understudies will be cast from the Adult Ensemble. Can sing in 2 and 3-part harmonies. Should move well with intermediate dance technique.

BIG DADDY (CAST) - the family patriarch, known to be brash and vulgar.

BIG MAMA - sincere, embarrassingly dedicated to a man who seems to despise her, considers Brick her “only son.”

LOLA - The Devil's seductress assistant. Sexy and confident. Falls in love with Joe when her usual tricks don't work on him. Though she's done many bad things, she is a good person deep down inside.

JOE HARDY - The 22-year-old, home run hitting alter ego of Joe Boyd. A good guy who loves that he is living out his dream, but deeply misses the life and love he left behind

JOE BOYD - A middle-aged, overweight married man who is in love with baseball, especially the Senators.

MEG BOYD - Joe's long-suffering, but loyal wife. She is lonely and misses her husband. Decides a little white lie is worth telling to save a good person.

GLORIA THORPE - A probing reporter whose bottom-line is a good story for her paper. Fearless and biting.

VAN BUREN - The luckless team manager. A sort of father-figure for the team, who proudly defends them. A bit of a loose cannon.

ROCKY - A baseball player for the Washington Senators. Cocky, but a little bit dopey, too. He's a guy's guy.

SMOKEY - A catcher for the Washington Senators. Not the sharpest tool in the shed. Tries to be a tough guy like Rocky, but truly is not.

VERNON - Baseball player.

DORIS - A friend of Meg's. She is slightly quieter and more conservative than her sister, but still outspoken. An avid baseball fan very involved in the community.

SISTER - A friend of Meg's and Doris's sister. Outspoken and brash, but caring. Very involved in community activities.

MR. WELCH - The owner of the Senators. Believes in Joe and believes in his team. A peacekeeper between the press and the team. Protective of Joe and the boys.

MALE-FEMALE ENSEMBLE - Male + Female, 18-45. Strong singers and dancers. Some featured speaking roles. Understudies will be cast from the Ensemble. All ethnicities
