FOOTLOOSE
REVEREND SHAW MOORE – The minister of Bomont County, and father of Ariel. Baritone. Must be strong singer/actor.
VI MOORE – Shaw’s wife. Mezzo Soprano. Must be strong singer/actress.
ARIEL MOORE – Shaw and Vi’s daughter. Mezzo Soprano. Must be a triple threat.
REN MCCORMACK – A teenage boy from Chicago. Tenor. Must be a triple threat. Needs to roller skate.
ETHEL MCCORMACK – Ren’s mother. Mezzo Soprano. Must be a strong singer/actress. RUSTY – Ariel’s best friend. Strong Belter. Must be a triple threat.
WENDY JO – Ariel’s friend. Triple Threat.
WILLARD HEWITT – Ren’s friend, a country boy. Baritone. Triple Threat ("learns" to dance at the end)
CHUCK CRANSTON – Ariel’s trailer trash, instigator type boyfriend. Baritone. Triple Threat. MISS SAIGON
KIM- (18 – 20yrs.) Female, leading role. Vietnamese. Innocent victim of Vietnam War, naïve but strong-willed. Strong vocal and dramatic ability required.Contemporary Broadway Belt – E below Mid C to High D.
THE ENGINEER (TRAN VAN DINH)- (30’s to 50’s) Male, leading role. Vietnamese/French (Eurasian). Sleazy but likeable small-time hustler,entrepreneur. Strong mover/singer actor. Baritone – Bb below C to high Ab. Capable of good movement
CHRISTOPHER SCOTT- (20’s to 30’s) Male, leading role. American GI. Strong, fit actor/singer. Pop Tenor – Middle C to High B. Capable of good movement.
THUY- (20’S to 30’s) Strong willed, Vietnamese military officer betrothed to Kim. Intensely patriotic and anti-American. Strong vocal and dramatic ability required. Tenor – Db below Mid C to High Bb. Capable of good movement.
JOHN THOMAS- (20’s to 40’s) Male, supporting role. Chris’ best friend. American GI. Strong, fit actor/singer. Tenor/baritone – A below Mid C to high B. Preference for African American or Hispanic actor.
ELLEN SCOTT- (20’S to 30’s) Female, supporting role. Chris’ wife. Iconically 1970’s American. Strong vocal and dramatic ability required. High Mixed Belt – F below C to High E
GIGI VAN TRANH- (20’s) Female, featured role. Hardened, disillusioned, Saigon prostitute. Major solo and ensemble work. Mezzo soprano – Middle C to High Eb. Strong dance skills.
