PREPARATION

Please prepare 2 contrasting contemporary monologues. Bring TWO headshots/resumes, each stapled together.

Grace Bradley: Female, 30s- 40s, Unwilling director of the Church Christmas Pageant, Wife of Bob.

Bob Bradley: Male, 30’s-40s, A solid Family man, Husband of Grace.

Helen Armstrong: Female, 30s-60s, Church lady, Imperious and domineering.

Edna McCarthy: Female, 30s-60s, Churcsh lady, Snooty, a younger version of Helen Armstrong.

Irma Slocum: Female, 30s-60s, Church lady, a Gossip and busybody.

Reverend Hopkins: Male, 30s-60s, The Church Minister.

Olivia: Female, a student, African diaspora, also plays Librarian, Caroline Remond, Sallie, Judge and Angelina Weld Grimké

Chris: Male, a student, African diaspora, also plays Marius Robinson, Pacifico, NY Times Reporter and Frederick Douglass

Ms. Dunbar: Female, the history teacher, Black/African diaspora, also plays Sojourner Truth, Sarah Remond, Evelyn, Nurse, Ida B. Wells and Grandma Vera.
