Beauregard Jackson Pickett Burnside: Mame’s wealthy southern suitor, a hell of a guy, smiling and outgoing. 30’s-40’s.

Norah Muldoon: Irish tough housekeeper & protector of young Patrick, becomes loyal to Mame. 40’s.

Agnes Gooch: awkward straight-laced secretary who transforms into a beauty for one night only to end up pregnant. 20’s-30’s.

M. Lindsay Woolsey: Mame’s sensible admirer, businessman, loyal friend & finally her husband. 35-60.

Mr. Babcock: Knickerbocker Bank President, a conservative steamroller who is appointed trustee to oversee Patrick’s money and upbringing. Mame’s biggest adversary. 40-65.

Brian O’Bannion: a tall, very handsome dark-haired Irish writer hired to help Mame with her memoirs but he becomes her lover. He spouts flowery language and can throw childish tantrums. 30.

Sally Cato MacDougal: young Southern belle, she wants to marry Beau and is out to get Mame out of the way even if it means killing her. 30’s.

Emory MacDougal: Sally’s younger brother. He is a white trash, bad boy. 12.

Mother Burnside: Beauregard’s southern mother, one of the scariest old women you’d ever see. 60’s.

Doris Upson: conservative, flighty mother of Gloria. Represents everything Mame is against. 40’s

Claude Upson: conservative, serious father of Gloria. 40’s

Gloria Upson: Patrick’s fiancée. She is attractive but vapid. 20’s

Pegeen Ryan: young Irish interior designer. Pretty, down to earth. Marries Patrick. 20’s.

Cousin Jeff: Southern gentleman. Beau’s relation. 35-45.

Cousin Fan: Snooty Southern lady. Beau’s relation. 25-40.

Ralph Devine: muscular, progressive educator. Romantically interested in Mame. 20’s to 30’s
