2 contrasting monologues (classic/contemporary - dramatic/comedic). If interested in musicals, 2 contrasting songs (uptempo/ballad), bring sheet music in the correct key. Be prepared to move, if asked.

BREAKDOWN

THE GLASS MENAGERIE

Amanda Wingfield (The Mother): Female, 45-60. Extroverted and theatrical, faded Southern belle. A proud woman fiercely devoted to her children; still holds onto the ideals of her genteel southern upbringing; a study in contradictions: girlish and grotesque; narcissistic and loving; sensitive and harsh; charming and manipulative; realist but often withdraws from reality into fantasy in difficult circumstance.

Tom Wingfield (The Son): Male, 35-50 (is middle aged in the present, 21 in the memory). Narrator of the play; Conflicted, full of contradictions. A poet who works in a warehouse caught between responsibility to his family and following his dreams; explosive, mercurial, lonely, and caring; deeply devoted to his sister; a suffocating dreamer.

Laura Wingfield (The Daughter): Female, 23-30 (plays 23). Delicate and compassionate but emotionally and physically stunted. Sensitive; painfully shy; retreats from reality through her collection of glass animals; loves her mother and brother; always puts others before herself.

WHITE CHRISTMAS

BOB WALLACE: (late 20's-mid30's) Major singing star, guiding force behind partner act. Born leader, occasional gruffness but deeply kind and principled, searching for true love. Superb crooner who moves very well. Baritone.

PHIL DAVIS: (late 20's-mid 30's) Fun loving, go-getter, clown, operator and ladies' man capable of scheming and deception to get what he wants. Boyish charm and sex appeal, must be a strong jazz and tap dancer adept at comedy. Bari-Tenor.

JUDY HAYNES (early 20's) Younger, more ambitious, slightly scheming sister of Betty. Wholesome and adorable, she is sexy and flirty, one that no man can resist. Strong jazz and tap dancing - a major song and dance performer. Strong Belt.

*All other roles have been cast.

ANOTHER NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS

KAROL ELLIOT (30s-40s). Attractive, verbally fast but cynical in an endearing way. Tired of the world, a social worker, she wants to help people but increasingly losing faith in them. Logical to a fault.

THE GUY (50s-60s). Very fast, mischievous, somewhat hip, loves nonsense. He’s on a mission. At first he seems a disoriented homeless person but later is quite sharp and to the point. Unfailingly kind and almost childlike, a man-child.
