SHOW #1 (Title to be announced in May)

7 roles, all of which will be understudied:

Role 1 – 20-30s female, any racial identity. On the cusp of adulthood. Too young and too in love.
Loves reading. Expresses herself more through words than music. Observant, curious, and
emotionally intelligent. Mercurial. Moves well. Dies too young.

Role 2 – 20-30s male or GNC, any racial identity; also too young and too in love, with both [1] and his
music. His head is in the clouds, and he hears music in everything, sometimes at the expense his
relationships. Kind, lithe, and loving. Should have some musical and movement ability.

Role 3 – 40s-60s male, any racial identity; middle-aged father of [1] who died too young. Has not yet
let go of the world of the living or his daughter. Witty, sharp, and compassionate, he suspends the
inevitable through his imagination, cleverness, and undeniable vitality.

Role 4– 30s-40s male, any racial identity; both an intimidating man and a formidable child, all without
really trying. Interested in everything but with little empathy for any of it. Fully of the earth with a large
presence, stocky build, and large hands.

The Chorus – 3 actors of any varying age, background, and identity:

Role 5 – the sharp one. Short only in length of their quips and quickness of wit.

Role 6 – the rounded one. Less direct in both understanding and movement. Softer.

Role 7 – the declarative one. Speaks clearly and with authority. A leader of sorts.
