Equity actors for roles in Shakespeare and Company 2023 LORT Season (see breakdown).

Some HENRY VI actors will also perform in FENCES; some HENRY VI actors will also perform in MIDSUMMER; some MIDSUMMER actors may understudy in FENCES; some FENCES actors may also be cast in HAMLET.

PREPARATION

Prepare 1 short classical / Shakespearean monologue AND 1 short contemporary monologue; bring resume and headshot stapled together if not delivered electronically at time of making audition appointment.

Equity encourages members to prepare for their audition prior to arriving at the audition venue, to the extent that they can (e.g., get dressed, hair/make-up, etc.) to avoid crowding in bathrooms and dressing rooms.

Holding/Audition room information:

The audition room can accommodate no more than 30 individuals at a time.

The holding room can accommodate no more than 20 individuals at a time.

For pre-cast roles, auditioning performers will be considered as possible replacements, should any become necessary. All roles will be understudied.

*Suffolk/Jack Cade: 40/50’s, he/him, any ethnicity, English lord, lover to Queen Margaret, doubles as Jack Cade, rebellious peasant.

*Margaret 40s, she/her, any ethnicity, strong-willed and passionate Queen of England.

*Duke of York/Dick the Butcher: 50/60s, he/him, any ethnicity, powerful English lord, doubles as rebellious tradesman.

Lyons: 30’s, he/him, Black, Troy’s oldest son, ambitious and talented jazz musician, often broke.
