BREAKDOWN
Elaine Torbry:
African American Woman. Early 50s. (also to play younger 19 to 50s) She’s a hard worker and determined woman, sophisticated and classy; and yet is fundamentally down to earth. We find her struggling with a potentially life-changing event. She turns to the source of solace that has inspired her and her spouse throughout their lives together. Jazz! Actress with emotional depth. She must be comfortable with poetic language, humor singing & movement: jazz, doo wop and gospel.
