SEEKING

See breakdown. We are especially seeking Latinx actors, particularly those of Mexican descent. All actors will play multiple characters/ages.

Singing, dancing, percussion, movement skills are a plus. Ability to speak Spanish is a plus though not absolutely necessary. We encourage Trans and GNC actors to audition


PREPARATION

Please prepare one contemporary monologue, dramatic or comedic (no more than 2 minutes)

Word for Word is a theatre company that transforms short works of fiction for the stage, without changing a word.
Some of the many authors whose works we have produced include Alice Munro, Edward P. Jones, Tobias Wolff,
George Saunders, Amy Tan, Colm Toíbin, Zora Neale Hurston and Sandra Cisneros.
This production will bring to the stage several chapters from Octavio Solis’ memoir of growing up in the 1960’s in El Paso. Solis is a renowned American playwright, the son of Mexican immigrants, whose
