For an appointment, call 443/518-1510 on May 22 and 24 from 10-1 and 2-5. Equity Members without appointments will be seen throughout each audition day, as time permits.

Please prepare a brief, contemporary dramatic and/or comic monologue, not to exceed 3 minutes.

Please bring a picture & resume, stapled back-to-back.

Some roles have been pre-cast, and are listed as such below. Auditioning performers will be considered as possible (emergency) replacements for pre-cast roles, should any become necessary.

Aphra Behn:

CAST. Woman, late 20s - late 30s.

Charles II / William Scott / Lady Davenant:

CAST. Played by one male actor. Approximately Aphra's age. Actor must be adept at dialects.

Jailor / Nell Gwynne / Maria:

CAST. Played by one female actor. Early - late 20s. Actress must be adept at dialects.

BARRYMORE by William Luce. Dir: Steven Carpenter. 1st reh: 9/27/11. Runs 10/26-11/11.

Prompter (Frank):

20-40. Gay. Stage manager with a Yonkers accent.

John Barrymore:

CAST. Man, 60. Actor must physically and vocally resemble John Barrymore, have agility and be very adept at dialects and mimicry.

YELLOWMAN by Dael Orlandersmith. Dir: Kasi Campbell. 1st reh: 1/10/12. Runs 2/8 - 2/26/12.

Alma:

32-45. Script describes character as African American with medium to dark skin tone. Tall or large-sized. Character is seen from childhood through adulthood. Also creates images of her own mother and several other characters through narration, physical characterizations and voice work. Requires a strong storyteller with broad emotional range, ability to move well and familiarity with or capacity to learn Gullah/Geechie Carolina dialect.

Eugene:

32-48. Script describes character as African American with very light skin tone. Tall. Character is seen from childhood through adulthood. Also creates images of his own father and several other characters through narration, physical characterizations and voice work. Requires a strong storyteller with broad emotional range, ability to move well and familiarity with or capacity to learn Gullah/Geechie Carolina dialect.

LAS MENINAS by Lynne Nottage. Dir: Eve Muson. 1st reh: 3/20/12. Runs 4/18 - 5/6/12.

Louise Marie-Therese:

Approximately 25-30. “A light complexioned black woman.”

Queen Marie-Therese:

25-30. “A plump blonde. She speaks with a rough Spanish accent.” Actress must be able to learn basic dance steps.

Nabo Sensugali:

25-35. “A very short African man. He is a ‘little person’, petite.”

King Louis XIV:

25-30. “A lovely young man more elegantly clad and adorned than his wife.” Arrogant, entitled, with regal airs. Actor must be adept at dialects and able to learn basic dance steps.

Queen Mother / Mother Superior:

Mature, 40-55. Actress must be adept at dialects.

Painter / Doctor:

Male, 30-50. Actor must be adept at dialects.

La Valliere / Lady Servant:

Female 20s. “The king's lovely, haughty mistress.”
