SYNOPSIS: In 1920s rural Connecticut, Phil Hogan cobbles together a living on rented farmland that he hopes to someday own outright, when his landlord Jim Tyrone comes into his inheritance. Hogan has driven away his three sons, but his towering daughter Josie understands her father and can hold

her own. When the two learn that the land may be sold out from under them, they concoct a plan to save it that ultimately reveals the secret desires that two lonely souls have kept hidden for years.

SYNOPSIS: A world premiere play based on the 1920’s silent German film which will incorporate new and original filmed components with a live performance. At a carnival in Germany, Franz and his friend Alain encounter the crazed Dr. Caligari. The men see Caligari showing off his somnambulist, Cesare, a hypnotized man who the doctor claims can see into the future. Shockingly, Cesare then predicts Alan's death, and by morning his chilling prophecy has come true -- making Cesare the prime suspect. However, is Cesare guilty, or is the doctor controlling him?

SEEKING:

DR. CALIGARI: Male (40-60). Caligari is comfortable speaking Italian words and phrases.

CESARE: A somnambulist, a young man, woman, or non-binary person (20s-30s). Doubles as the ORDERLY.

FRANZ: A medical student, a young male or non-binary person (20s). Frequently speaks German words and phrases and speaks convincingly when using scientific jargon.

HANNAH: A flapper-ish young dance student, a female or non-binary person (20s). Frequently engages in modern dance and other avant-garde forms of movement.

ALAIN: A young law student, male or non-binary person (20s). His French is always terrible.

KOMMISSAR: A communist agitator, Male (30s-50s). Doubles as several other roles, including DR. RAUCH and the POLICEMAN.

KISSING BOOTH GIRL: A patriotic yet gender-queer carnival attraction (age indeterminate). Doubles as other roles, including the FLAPPER and possibly HELENE WEIGEL (TBD)
