APPOINTMENTS

No appointment necessary for AEA actors. Non-union actors interested in auditioning should submit their picture and resume, to casting@capitalrep.org and will be given appointments as time permits.


CONTRACT

TYA Contract Deal Points: (1) One Roundtrip Amtrak from NYC to Albany, NY (2) Private Housing in theREP’s company apartments (no sharing) (3) Weekly Salary of $585.00 (4) Must join AEA Contract (5) TYA In-School Tour (no overnights)


SEEKING

Equity and Non-Equity actors for 2 available Actor Tracks. All actors will be put on an Actor/ASM contract. [As ASM’s, actors will help with load in and load out, set up and strike of the set.]

All actors cast will receive an Equity Contract.


PREPARATION

Sides provided upon request (casting@capitalrep.org) and at the theatre on the day of the audition.
Additionally, please bring a stapled copy of your headshot and resume

BREAKDOWN

Celebrate the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment - Women’s Right to Vote! This powerful production allows students to experience the battles fought – and ultimately won – for women’s suffrage told in the voices of the brave warriors who fought them as well as those who fought – and still are fighting – for civil rights for all. Petticoats of Steel uses primary sources and chronicles the story of how women got the vote in NYS and the United States through the work of African American and Caucasian suffragettes, including Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Susan B. Anthony, Mary Church Terrell, and Sojourner Truth (and others).

Seeking (2) female versatile, physically agile, quick study actors.

Actor Track 1: Already cast.

Actor Track 2: Female 20s-30s: (1) Physically adept actor who will portray a variety of characters both male and female, such as Sojourner Truth, Mary Church Terrell, Lucretia Mott, and Harriet Tubman.

Actor Track 3: Female 20s-30s: (1) Physically adept actor who will portray a variety of characters both male and female, such as Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Clara Barton,

For more than a decade, Capital Repertory Theatre’s TYA On-The Go! in-School touring productions have been presented in a variety of schools and environments throughout the Capital Region to very diverse audiences. Actors should enjoy performing for and interacting with young audiences (middle and high school students). There are post-show discussions after every performance (time permitting). Actors must also be collegial and adaptive. There are no overnight stays on the tour. The TYA work week is Monday – Saturday.
