PREPARATION

Please bring picture and resume. Bring sheet music in the style of the show, and in the proper key. Accompanist provided. No recorded music or acapella, please.

Performances to take place at the Kavli Theatre, Bank of America Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza, Thousand Oaks, CA. . All roles are available. Adult roles limited to age 16 and up. Cabrillo Music Theatre strongly encouranges all ethnicities to audition.

An Equity Monitor will not be provided. The producer will run all aspects of this audition.

SEEKING ALL ETHNICITIES FOR ALL ROLES!

PETER PAN (to play 14-17) Female. NO TALLER THAN 5’5”. Childhood and boyishness personified. Athletic with cat-like reflexes and exhilarating persistence. A creature of constant motion. Actor, Singer, Dancer. Gymnastic skills a plus! Must not be afraid of heights. British Dialect. Mezzo belt with serious low notes (Eb3 - Eb5).

MR. DARLING/ CAPTAIN HOOK (to play 35-50) Male. A man of stature and presence, very versatile. To play both the uptight but loving father of Wendy, Michael and John, and the villainous, sinister, one-handed captain of the Jolly-Roger, Captain Hook. Relentless. Has a short fuse and a high opinion of himself, yet fearful of the crocodile. Great comic timing. Adept at sword play. British dialect. High Baritone with Bass notes. As Mr. Darling, legit baritone (D3 - D4). As Hook, high baritone with serious low notes (E2 - F#4).

WENDY DARLING (to play 13-16) Female. NO TALLER THAN 5’5”. The eldest Darling child. Wendy is compassionate, incredibly loving, and very protective of her younger brothers. Innocent, sweet, good-natured and truly feminine. Easily assuming a maternal position in Neverland. Must not be afraid of heights. Moves well. British dialect. Mezzo or soprano (A3 - Db5).

JOHN DARLING (to play 10-13) Male. NO TALLER THAN 5’3”. The middle Darling child. Sly, mischievous, and always ready for an adventure. A bit of a know-it-all. Proper and stuffy with a well-mannered edge. Must not be afraid of heights. Moves well. British Dialect. Boy Soprano (Ab3 - E5).

MICHAEL DARLING (to play 6-8) Male. NO TALLER THAN 5’0”. The youngest Darling child. Never far from his favorite Teddy, Michael is sweet and innocent with a natural charm, adorable face, and endearing spurts of energy. Must not be afraid of heights. Moves well. British dialect. Boy Soprano (Ab3 - Db5).

MRS. DARLING (to play 35-45) Female. The Darling matriarch. Gently, warm, loving, graceful and caring. Motherly with a pleasant strength to her demeanor. Mezzo soprano (Ab3 - D5).

TIGER LILY/LIZA (to play 16-25) Female. A striking Native American Princess, fearless and spunky with an “other world” quality and a childlike sense of adventure. Must have a commanding presence. A brilliant dancer who sings. Liza is playful, efficient and proper. Cockney dialect. Mezzo belt (G3 - C5).

SMEE (to play 35-50) Male. NO TALLER THAN 5’8”. An eccentric character man with great comedic skills and creativity. Loveable with a wonderful sense of play. Naturally quirky and not “all there”. This man has a dark side as well. Must be a strong actor and singer, and be able to move well. British dialect. Baritone (C3 - F#4).

NANA The Darlings’ very large canine house servant. Must be able to meet the physical requirements of being on all fours and be extremely animated. Will double in other roles.

THE CROCODILE Hook’s nemesis. Must be able to meet the physical requirements of crawling on the floor. Will double in other roles.

JANE (to play 12-16) Female. Grown Wendy’s daughter who appears at the end of the show and flies to Neverland with Peter. Young and sweet. Must not be afraid of heights. Will double as other roles.

ADULT WENDY (to play 35-45) Wendy as an adult and mother. May double in another role.

LOST BOYS (to play 15-25) Male or tomboy female. NO TALLER THAN 5’5”. There is a misfit quality to them and a childlike sense of play. Lots of energy and spunk. Must be strong actors and singers, and be able to move well. Tumbling, gymnastics, etc. a plus. British dialect.

Lost Boys include:

TOOTLES The leader of the Lost Boys in Peter’s absence. Simple with a good heart.

NIBS The most comedic of The Lost Boys.

SLIGHTLY Conceited. He knows very little but considers himself knowledgeable about most things.

CURLY Curly-haired. Timid but loyal.

THE TWINS Classic twins. (We should not be able to tell them apart.)

DANCERS WHO SING & SINGERS WHO MOVE (16 & up): Seeking a diverse ensemble of singers, dancers, and actors to play PIRATES, INDIANS, and various supporting roles. Seeking triple threats: extremely strong technically trained dancers who sing very well and have acting skills. Acrobatic skills a plus. The show is physically demanding so you must be in excellent condition. Various dialects needed.

KIDS’ ENSEMBLE (8-15): Seeking a diverse ensemble of singers, dancers, and actors to play PIRATES, INDIANS, and various supporting roles. Tumbling, gymnastics, etc. a plus.
