For an appointment, call Bridget Kathleen O’Leary at 617/923-7060, x204 (M–F, 10–6). Equity Members without appointments will be seen throughout the audition session as time permits.

Five-minute appointments. Each Equity Member has a minimum of three minutes to audition. Please prepare a musical theatre song (including, if you choose, a selection from RENT or LITTLE SHOP). An accompanist will be provided. If you are not singing from the score, please bring sheet music, with starting and stopping places clearly marked. For those who would also like to read a scene from either show, a reader and copies of the script will be available. Copies of the shows’ vocal scores are available at StageSource, 88 Tremont St, Boston.

Please bring a picture & resume, stapled back-to-back.

All roles are available unless otherwise specified. No understudies are being cast. All roles are available for non-traditional casting.

Mainstage:

RENT by Jonathan Larson. All staff TBD. 1st reh: 8/16/11. Runs 9/4-9/25. May extend to 10/2.

Angel Dumott Schunard:

Man, 20s-30s. Transvestite street drummer. Infected with HIV. Incredible dancer with a magnetic personality.

Benjamin Coffin III:

30s–40s. Wealthy landlord of Mark and Roger's building. Wants to start a multimedia studio.

Joanne Jefferson:

20s-30s. Headstrong public interest lawyer. Maureen's lover.

Mark Cohen:

20s-30s. Filmmaker and video artist, determined to capture “real” life on film. Roger's roommate.

Maureen Johnson:

20s-30s. High-spirited performance artist. Mark's ex-girlfriend.

Mimi Marquez:

20s-30s. Dancer. Has AIDS and a drug problem. Desperate for a place to feel safe and protected.

Roger Davis:

20s-30s. Edgy, struggling musician. HIV+. Hopes to write one last, meaningful song before he dies.

Tom Collins:

30s-40s. HIV+. Computer genius. Has recently returned to New York after an absence. Has a deep capacity for love and understanding.

LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS Music: Alan Menken. Book/Lyrics: Howard Ashman. All staff TBD.

1st reh: 4/9/12. Runs 4/29/12 - 5/20/12. May extend to 5/27/12.

Audrey:

20-35. Bleached blonde. Sweet and most vulnerable.

Crystal, Ronnette and Chiffon:

Women, 18-35. Three young, hip, smart street urchins who function as participants in the action and as narrators.

Mr. Mushnik:

60s. Failing owner of an East Side florist’s shop. Seldom smiles. Very high-strung.

Orin / Others:

Male, 30-45. Orin: Tall, dark, handsome, egotistical dentist with sadistic tendencies. Actor also plays A Voice, Wino #2, Customer, Radio Announcer, Mr. Bernstein, Mrs. Luce, Skip Snip and Patrick Martin.

Seymour:

18-30. Insecure, naïve, put-upon florist’s clerk. Sweet and well-meaning.

The Plant (Audrey II):

The creature is played by a series of four increasingly large puppets, manipulated by one puppeteer. Actor also plays Wino #1.

Voice Of The Plant:

Provided by an actor on an offstage microphone. The Voice is street-smart, funky, conniving.
