SEEKING

Seeking 2 actors for the regional premiere of Native Gardens. Pablo, a high-powered lawyer, and doctoral candidate Tania, his very pregnant wife, are realizing the American dream when they purchase a house next door to community stalwarts Virginia and Frank. But a disagreement over a longstanding fence line soon spirals into an all-out war of taste, class, privilege and entitlement. The hilarious results guarantee no one comes out smelling like a rose.


PREPARATION

Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. Sides can be found online at www.watertowertheatre.org/employment.aspx. Copies will be provided at the audition.

BREAKDOWN

Virginia Butley – Female, 50s-60s, Caucasian, Republican, cordial and witty yet strong-willed and incognizant of her frequent political incorrectness. Upper middle class status.

Frank Butley – Male, 50s-60s, Caucasian. Republican, neighborly, kind, and sensitive but quick to anger. An overly zealous gardener who feels strongly about the beautification of his yard. Upper-middle class status.

*The roles of Tania Del Valle and Pablo Del Valle have been pre-cast.
