SEEKING

Equity adult actors for roles in 2019-20 season. (See breakdown.)

Equity Stage Managers are not being sought at this time, however stage managers may send resumes to erica@nashvillerep.org.

PREPARATION

Please bring current headshot/resumés, 1 for the artistic director and an additional one for each guest director you would like to consider you. (See show info for directors.)

IF AUDITIONING ONLY FOR NON-MUSICAL SHOWS: Please prepare 2 contrasting monologues together totaling no more than three (3) minutes.
IF AUDITIONING FOR SHOWS INCLUDING MUSICAL or ONLY THE MUSICAL: Please prepare 1 or 2 monologues and up to 32 bars of a song, together totaling no more than three (3) minutes. PLEASE NOTE accompanist hours above. Please bring sheet music in your key.

No dancing will be required at this audition, however dancing may be required at callbacks.

URINETOWN, THE MUSICAL, music by Mark Hollmann, lyrics by Mark Hollmann and Greg Kotis, book by Greg Kotis. Johnson Theatre. Director: Jason Tucker. Assistant Music Director: TBA Choreographer: Pam Atha.
Rehearsals: Aug. 19—Sept. 14, 2019. Previews Sept. 12 & 13. Runs: Sept. 14—29, 2019. Anticipating 5 AEA contracts.

Officer Lockstock - a policeman.
Penelope Pennywise – chief custodian at the filthiest urinal in town.
Bobby Strong – assistant custodian at the filthiest urinal in town.
Little Sally – a poor little girl.
Hope Cladwell – Cladwell’s daughter, new in town.
Mr. McQueen – Cladwell’s right-hand man.
Senator Fipp – a public servant.
Officer Barrel – Lockstock’s partner.
Caldwell B. Cladwell – president and owner of Urine Good Co.
An ensemble of 7 (4 male, 3 female) to play Old Man Strong, Josephine Strong, poor people, UGC executives/employees, and cops.

Rehearsals: Sept. 28—Oct. 16, 2019. Previews Oct. 17 & 18. Runs: Oct. 19—Nov. 3, 2019. Anticipating 5 AEA contracts.

Casting: 3 male, 3 female.

Nya – Black woman, mid-late 30s. Single mother. Public high school teacher.
Omari – Black man, late teens. Smart and astute. Rage without release. Tender and honest at his core.
Jasmine – Black or Latina woman, late teens. Sensitive and tough. A sharp bite, a soft smile.
Xavier – Black man, mid-late thirties. Single father, struggling to connect to his own son.
Laurie – White woman, fifties. Pistol of a woman. Doesn’t bite her tongue.
Dun – Black man, early-mid-thirties. Public high school security guard. Genuine and thoughtful.

EVERY BRILLIANT THING, by Duncan Macmillan with Jonny Donahoe. Johnson Theatre. Director: Lauren Shouse.

Patrick Barlow’s A CHRISTMAS CAROL, adapted by Patrick Barlow from the novel by Charles Dickens. Johnson Theatre. Director: René Copeland.
Rehearsals: Nov. 9—Nov. 28, 2019. Preview Nov. 29. Runs: Nov. 30—Dec. 22, 2019. Anticipating 5 AEA contracts.

Casting: 3 male, 2 female. Seeking actors of all races/ethnicities to audition for all roles.

Actor One (M) – Ebenezer Scrooge.
Actor Two (M) – Bob Cratchit, Marley, Young Scrooge, etc.
Actor Three (F) – Martha Cratchit, Ghost of Christmas Present, Isabella, etc.
Actor Four (F) – Mrs. Cratchit, Ghost of Christmas Past, Scrooge’s Mother, etc.
Actor Five (M) – Frederick, Mr. Fezziwig, Peter Cratchit, Tiny Tim, etc.
Actors 2-5 will play various narrators, carol singers, debtors, spirits, skaters, pieces of furniture, ghostly helpers, etc. and will need both Standard British and Cockney dialects. Actors 3 and 5 will also need Irish and Northern English dialects. Actor One needs Standard British only. If auditioning for this show, consider demonstrating ability with dialect at open call.

THIS RED PLANET, by Nate Eppler. Johnson Theatre. Director: TBA
Rehearsals: Jan. 18—Feb. 5, 2019. Previews Feb. 6 & 7. Runs: Feb. 8—23, 2020. Anticipating 4 AEA contracts.
