One Equity Actor to play the following in this one-woman show:

Actor: Female, 18+. Actor plays multiple roles. All characters are African-American

Breakdown

Seeking ONE FEMALE ACTOR, 18+
Actress will play multiple roles. All characters are African-American. Roles include:

Deshawn, a sixteen-year-old, energetic, charismatic young black man who lives in Harlem

Clarissa, a witty and charismatic eleven-year-old black girl who lives in a Harlem housing project and follows Mr. Joy around in his shoe shop

Bessie, a seventy-two-year-old black woman who is a lifetime Harlem resident and Clarissa’s grandmother

Peter, a twelve-year-old black boy who lives in Harlem and is Clarissa’s boyfriend

John Lee, a Chinese-American man is his late thirties, who is Mr. Joy’s son who grew up in Harlem and is now a very successful real estate developer who works for Clifford

Rebecca, a perky Upper East Side white woman in her late thirties who is Clifford’s girlfriend

Clifford, a Republican, conservative black man in his early fifties, who is a big-time real estate developer, John Lee’s boss, Rebecca’s boyfriend, and Ashes’ father; Ashes, a trans* flight attendant who is Clifford’s daughter

James, a fifty-five-year-old homeless man with a raspy voice who has lived in Harlem all his life.
