The City of Vista is currently in negotiations with AEA. Past summer seasons included 2 AEA contracts per show, plus 2 floating actor contracts. Past weekly salary was $568. per week; five-week contract.

LEGALLY BLONDE: Elle Woods; soprano belt to play 22-25; the quintessential Valley Girl with more than a pretty face; dynamic energy with irresistible charm and presence--major star power; must sing, dance and act--a true "triple threat"; Emmett Forrest: Tenor to play 25-30; a smart and sensitive law student with quirky charm and appeal; excellent actor/singer; Professor Callahan: Baritone, 35-50; a pompous and manipulative law professor at Harvard. Excellent actor/singer; Paulette: Soprano belt, 35-45: a brash and funny hair stylist who is friends with Elle and longs to find a man for herself; excellent actress/belter/mover; Warner Huntington III: tenor to play 22-25; a good-looking but pompous guy who breaks Elle's heart--cocky yet annoyingly charming. Excellent actor/singer; Vivienne Kensington: soprano belt to play 22-25; a smart and savvy law student who initially dismisses Elle, but grows to be her friend. ANYTHING GOES: Reno Sweeney, mezzo-soprano to play late '20's--early '30's: a sexy evangelist turned nightclub singers, excellent singer and excellent dancer including tap; Billy Crockett, tenor to play late 20's-early 30's: Whitney's brash young assistant; best friends with Reno Sweeney but in love with Hope Harcourt; handsome, charming; excellent singer and dancer with strong comedic skills; Moonface Martin, tenor to play 30's-60's: Public Enemy #13--a hapless gangster--character role with great comedic and improvisational skills; Hope Harcourt, mezzo-soprano to play 20's: a beautiful debutante, excellent singer and lyrical dancer; Erma, Alto to play 20's: a gangster's very sexy moll, curvaceous, attractive yet fickle, strong dancer and singer; Lord Evelyn Oakleigh, baritone to play 30's to 40's; attractive and very wealthy English gentleman, eccentric with a hidden passionate side, excellent singer who moves well with great comic timing; Mrs. Evangeline Harcourt to play 50's to 60's : Hope's mother, an attractive widow, desperate to see that her daughter marries well; singing and moving well is a plus; Elisha J. Whitney, baritone to play late 50's-60's: a blustery New York tycoon and Yale man with a big ego who never lacks for confidence; enjoys a drink or three; Captain, baritone to play 50's-60's: a bit pompous, showing off his authority, ability to move well and have tap skills is a plus; Purser, tenor to play 30's-40's: takes his job seriously with pride in being efficient to help the Captain. Ability to move well and tap is a plus. Ensemble: all ranges of voices to play young adults to early 40's: 16 cast members, probably 8 females and 8 males; all must sing and move well and have some degree of tap and jazz skills from Intermediate to Advanced; include the following roles: Fred, the bartender, Reno's four "Angels", Reverend Henry T. SWEENEY TODD, THE DEMON BARBER OF FLEET STREET: Sweeney Todd, baritone to play late 30's to late 40's: a happy family man sent away on a false charge, he returns a murderous barber; finds vengeance in his blades by slitting the throats of all his enemies. Mrs. Nellie Lovett, mezzo-soprano to play late 30's to late 40's:(Cast pending) worn down owner of a pie shop on Fleet Street; hard-edged but with a savvy sense of humor; she aides Sweeney in his massacre by making meat pies out of his victims, needs Cockney accent; Judge Turpin, bass to play 40's to early 50's: Contemporary of Sweeney's and the man responsible for his downfall, pompous, self-centered and powerful, he plans to wed his charge Johanna; Anthony Hope, tenor to play 20's: young, modern romantic, a sailor who meets and helps Sweeney on his return to London--he falls in love with Johanna; Johanna, lyric soprano to play 20's: young, ingenue, Sweeney's daughter. Young, innocent, romantic and beautiful, she becomes the ward of the Judge who wants to make her his wife; Tobias Ragg, tenor in 20's to play under 20: young and vulnerable, assistant to Pirelli, he is an abused orphan. He comes to view Mrs. Lovett as a surrogate mother figure, needs Cockney accent; Beggar Woman, mezzo-soprano to play 30's-40's: once glamorous, she's a mentally unstable homeless woman and prostitute; this role is highly physical, needs operatic mezzo with strong theatre belt; Beadle Bamford, tenor to play 30's-40's: sleazy, menacing henchman of the Judge, can be terrifying or outright threatening yet fastidious and fussy. Classically-trained high baritone/tenor with flexible falsetto; Adolfo Pirelli, tenor to play mid-30's: tall, thin charlatan Italian barber (actually Irish). Over the top opportunist bent on blackmail. Must be adept at physical comedy; Ensemble: all ranges of vocals, ages open: seeking all voice types from low bass to high soprano, extremely legit voices, though the women should be able to belt as well.
