SPT SPT: $352/week minimum
SEEKING
Male and Female actors for the upcoming productions of MARIE AND ROSETTA and BIRTHDAY CANDLES. Performers of all ethnic and racial backgrounds are encouraged to attend. See breakdown for more details.
PREPARATION
Marie and Rosetta: 2 minute monologue and 16 bars of a gospel song, sung accapella. Birthday Candles: 2 minute comedic monologue; be prepared to do a second contrasting monologue if asked.

BREAKDOWN
Marie and Rosetta:
Marie - An African-American woman in her 20s but looks younger. A traditional alto gospel singer, plays staid piano. Gorgeous, on her way to being a spiritual star.
Sister Rosetta Thwarp- an African-American woman in her early 30's. Pretty, vivacious and irrepressible spirit. A mean guitar player with a bluesy voice. Plays spirituals that swing.
Birthday Candles:
Ernestine Ashworth
Travels from age 17 to 101. In that time she will be a daughter, a girlfriend, a wife, a mother, a friend, an aunt, a mother-in-law, a widow, a second wife, a grandmother, a great grandmother, and a great great grandmother.
CHORUS: The five-person chorus will play the remaining nine roles. Breakdown for these characters will be available shortly.
