BREAKDOWN

DONNA SHERIDAN (American, 40s): Sophie’s mother and the owner of the Taverna on the Greek island of Kalokairi. Honest, straightforward and self-sufficient, she is the anchor of her world. The former lead singer of Donna and the Dynamos, Donna also has a wild side which she’s had to repress … but it’s in there. Must sing (Top: A5 – Bottom E3) and move.

SOPHIE SHERIDAN (American, 20 years old): Donna’s daughter. Headstrong, confident and independent, Sophie is determined to have what her mother never had: a traditional family and a father to walk her down the aisle. Young, bright and energetic, she has lived all her life on the island and is ready to leave. Must sing (Top E5 – Bottom: F#3) and move.

TANYA CRESHAM-LEIGH (American, mid 30s-mid 40s): One of Donna’s oldest and best friends, and a former member of Donna and the Dynamos. Tanya has married several millionaires and discovered a lot more about plastic surgery than love. Wild, fun-loving and free with her sexuality, she flirts mercilessly with young men, happy to play, but not to stick around. Must sing (Top: E5 – Bottom: E3) and move.

ROSIE MULLIGAN (American, mid 30s-mid 40s): Donna’s friend, and the third member of the Dynamos. A renowned author of cookbooks, Rosie is happily single and happy with her professional success. Warm, funny and self-deprecating, she uses humor to mask her inner vulnerability. Must sing (Top: D5 – Bottom: E3) and move.

HARRY BRIGHT (British, 40-50): Another of Sophie’s potential fathers and a respected London banker. A former head-banging, partying musician, Harry went down the straight road - at least with his career. He is quirky, slightly stuffy, and as it turns out, in the closet. A nice guy, determined to make up for past regrets. Must sing (Top: F#4 – Bottom: C#3) and move. 6. Character Breakdowns (continued)

BILL AUSTIN (American or Australian, 40-50): Another of Sophie’s potential fathers, a well-known travel writer. Bill has visited the far reaches of the earth, but never found what he’s really looking for. An Indiana Jones type, he has generally avoided the complexities of a relationship and now wonders if it’s too late. Must sing (Top: F#4 – Bottom Bb2) and move.

SKY (American, 20s-early 30s): Sophie’s fiancé. A former stockbroker who moved to the island to explore the world outside of finance. Smitten by Sophie and eager to give her what she wants, he is a good guy who hasn’t found what he’s looking for, but knows he is in love. Must sing (Top Ab4 – Bottom: Eb3) and move.

ALI and LISA (American, early 20s): Sophie’s friends who have traveled to the island for the wedding. Two peas in a pod, they’re a dynamic duo of bubbly, bridesmaid-y excitement. Must sing (Ali: Top: D5 – Bottom: G3; Lisa: Top: Db5 – Bottom: G3) and move well.

PEPPER and EDDIE (European or American, 20s): Flirty waiters at the Taverna. They are good-looking, fun loving and ready for action. The male dynamic duo of the show, they’re bros with a heart. Must sing (Top: G4 – Bottom: A2) and dance. NOTE: Those auditioning for these roles can attend either the dance call or make a singing appointment.

MALE and FEMALE ENSEMBLE (20s-40s). Local residents of the island. Colorful and enthusiastic. Must sing and dance. NOTE: Actors auditioning for ensemble can attend either the dance call or make a singing appointment.

THE ROLE OF ‘SAM CARMICHAEL’ HAS BEEN CAST.
