Bay Area Theatre Minimum - $638/wk

SEEKING

Actors for Magic Theatre’s 2019-2020 season: The Virgin Play Festival; Don't Eat the Mangos by Ricardo Perez Gonzalez directed by David Mendizabal; and Escaped Alone by Caryl Churchill directed by Loretta Greco. The Chinese Lady by Lloyd Suh has already been cast. Actors of all ethnicities, abilities and types encouraged to apply. Strong preference for Bay Area actors.

PREPARATION

Please prepare one monologue or two contemporary contrasting monologues of your choice for a total of three minutes. Bring a copy of your headshot and resume, stapled together

Ismelda: 46, Puerto Rican, eldest sister, didn't leave home, works in home loans

Yinoelle: 41, Puerto Rican, middle sister, left home, mother of two young daughters

Wicha: 39, Puerto Rican baby sister, left home, professor at a university, mother, divorced/sperated, single mom to an adult son

Papi: 60s, 70s, Father of the three sisters, Puerto Rican, bound to a wheel chair, suffering from a phlegmatic disease tha requires constant attention and pumping of the lungs.

The role of Mami has been precast.

LENA - at least 70

MRS. JARRETT - at least 70
