Equity Principal Auditions BY APPOINTMENT

Thursday, October 18, 2012 at the Stonington Opera House

9:30 AM — 5:30 PM 1 School Street

AEA members without appointments will be seen as time permits.

Prepare a 2 minute contemporary monologue, and a 12 beat, simple movement sequence.

Bring picture and resume, stapled together.

Seeking: 4 men and 2 women for a gentle, heartbreaking comedy set and produced in Downeast Maine.

Nat Paradis:

Male - 34, almost 35. Runs the “Paradis Last Convenient Store,” a convenience/general store in Township 15, Range 8, a remote, unincorporated township in far northern Maine that sits on the edge of what’s wild and what’s not. He has never left his hometown, or done anything beyond high school except run the store, is a Red Sox fan, has just gotten a DUI and doesn’t know why he did it. He is sad. Must be able to swing dance.

Troy Paradis-Pulcifer:

Male - 16. Nat’s son, a bright, down-to-earth boy with bright possibilities before him. He loves and is exasperated by his father.

Guy Gagnon:

Male - 35. Nat’s best friend. Another Red Sox fan. His wife has died and he has grown fat. Must be able to swing dance.

Cherry-Tracy Pulcifer:

Female - 37. Troy’s mother. A uniformed Forest Ranger, officious, and not a quiet woman.

Lurene Legassie:

Female - 34. She and Nat were high school sweethearts. She moved to New York City and has returned to her hometown for the spring committal of her deceased mother’s body. Must be able to swing dance.

The following role has been CAST. Actors auditioning may be considered for possible replacement if necessary.

Dwight Paradis:

Male - 59. Nat’s father, and owner of the store. He fancies himself a ladies’ man.
