Seeking an Equity actress for the following role:
Billie Holiday:
The great jazz singer in the last year of her life. African American woman, early/mid 40s
The role of Jimmy Powers has already been cast.
Local Columbia/DC Metro area actors are strongly encouraged to audition
PREPARATION
Please prepare 16 bars of a standard from Billie Holiday's repertoire . Accompanist will be provided, actor must have sheet music. Also required is one contemporary monologue (under 2 minutes in length) NOT FROM THE SCRIPT of Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill.
