BREAKDOWN

CYGNET ENCOURAGES PERFORMERS OF ALL ETHNICITIES, GENDER IDENTITIES, AND AGES, AS WELL AS PERFORMERS WITH DISABILITIES, TO ATTEND EVERY AUDITION.

The roles of Albin, Georges, Dindon, Mme. Dindon, Francis have been cast.

Currently casting the following:

Jean-Michel: Young ingenue, romantic lead. Must appear to be about 20 years old; masculine, well-mannered, educated; desperately in love with his fiancée, Anne; lyric baritone who acts, sings and moves well.

Jacob: Butler/maid of Albin. Non-Caucasian. 20’s to 30’s; brilliant comedian who sings and moves well.

Anne: 18-21; Jean-Michel’s fiancée; spunky and madly in love with Jean-Michel; a strong dancer who sings and acts well. Actor playing Anne will also play one of the two female Cagelles, so passing as a believable drag performer will also be considered!

Jacqueline: mature, female friend of Georges and Albin; owns a chic restaurant; big personality, attractive, charming, the perfect French hostess; very theatrical. Strong voice.

7 Cagelles (2 are female): drag performers in the La Cage stage act. There are two women performers in to stir up the mix. One of the women will play Anne, and one will play Colette. Other male roles will be played by men of the Cagelles. Strong voices, comedians, strong dancing skills including tap.
