Equity encourages everyone participating in the auditions to wear a two-ply cloth face mask, surgical mask, singer’s mask or respirator (N95, KN95 or KF94). Single-ply face masks, gaiters and bandanas are not recommended. Singer’s masks can be found at www.broadwayreliefproject.com/singersmask.
Equity encourages members to prepare for their audition prior to arriving at the audition venue, to the extent that they can (e.g., get dressed, hair/make-up, etc.) to avoid crowding in bathrooms and dressing rooms.
Holding/Audition room information:
The audition room can accommodate no more than 45 individuals at a time.
The audition room can accommodate no more than 18 dancers at a time.
The holding room can accommodate no more than 35 individuals at a time.
Angels: males 20-30 (all ethnicities) These are the drag personalities that populate The Blue Angel night club in London. Excellent dancers in heals able to sing extremely well (high pop). Previous drag experience helpful but not necessary. Acrobatics a plus.
Male Ensemble: Men of all ethnicities (specifically one African American male for the track that includes Lola’s/Simon’s father). Excellent singers able to move well AND move well in a heeled boot as all characters end up in high heeled boots at the end of the show. Roles include Mr. Price, Harry (guitar a plus), Simon Sr., and Richard Bailey
Female Ensemble: Women of all ethnicities (specifically one African American woman for the track that includes Lola’s double). Excellent singers able to move well AND move well in a heeled boot as all characters end up in boots at the end of the show.
Male 1. NICK DEVITO & OTHERS: MALE, 20-35; strong actor/singer to play various roles; 30’s; strong tenor/bari-tenor voice; must be very comfortable with traditional four-part harmonies; also needs to be comfortable with narrative text; ability to play guitar a very strong plus; bad-boy quality; good dancer.
Male 2. JOE PESCI & OTHERS/FRANKIE U/S: MALE, 20-35; must be 5’9 or shorter; young, energetic; must be a good actor and a good actor and strong singer with the range of Frankie Valli. See FRANKIE breakdown.
Male 3. BOB CREWE & OTHERS: MALE, 30-40; intelligent and flamboyant; genius music producer and lyricist; an integral part of creating the magic of The Four Seasons.
Male 4. GYP DECARLO & OTHERS: MALE, 40-55; tough, Mafioso type; must be a strong character actor and strong singer.
Male 5. BARRY BELSON & OTHERS: MALE, 20-49; strong actor and singer to play various roles (friends, producers, etc.); strong tenor to high C; with a strong falsetto to G above high C; must have the ability to riff in rhythm-and-blues style.
Male 6. HANK MAJEWSKI & OTHERS: MALE, 20-49; strong actor and singer to play various roles (friends, producers, etc.), bari-tenor voice down to a strong low G (low E a big plus); guitar and/or drums a plus. Female 1. MARY & OTHERS: FEMALE, 25-40; Frankie’s wife; tough, “Seen it all”, Italian, Jersey girl; she’s got a killer sense of humor; actor also plays a variety of other roles including member of a 60’s style girl group; strong belt useful; high straight tone soprano also useful; very good dancer.
Female 2. LORRAINE & OTHERS: FEMALE, 20-35; Frankie’s mom; educated; not from Jersey; a reach career girl; young Diane Sawyer; actor also plays a variety of other roles, including member of a 60’s style girl group and tough-as-nails Jersey girl; strong high belt useful, belt to high F extremely useful; high, straight tone soprano also useful; very good dancer.
Female 3. FRANCINE & OTHERS: FEMALE, 20-35; Frankie’s daughter; named for, doted on and deeply loved by Frankie. She’s a Jersey girl—vulnerable, lost and acts out to make up for lack of attention from her dad. Actor also plays a variety of other roles including a member of a 60’s style girl group and a tough-as-nails Jersey girl. Strong, high belt useful. Belt to high F extremely useful, high straight tone soprano also useful but not required; very good dancer.
