BREAKDOWN

KINKY BOOTS

SEEKING:

[CHARLIE PRICE] Male, late 20s - early 30s, Caucasian. Just out of university, a really nice guy who has no clue what to do with the rest of his life. He’s handsome, lovable, but there’s a temper right under the skin. Henpecked by his girlfriend and a little lost. Has a great rock belt to a Bb.

[LOLA/SIMON] Male, early 30s, Black. An emotionally and physically challenging role requires the body of a boxer, with the soul of a Diva to play this scene-stealing drag performer. Has a killer voice with power blues and gospel chops. Sings to a Bb. Lola dances in very high heels and so must move well. A Star. This is the Tony Award Winning role originated by actor Billy Porter.

[LAUREN] Female, 20s, any ethnicity. Beautiful working-class girl, who is funny, smart, practical and focused, but has had bad luck with men. Has a pop voice with belt and comedic chops.

[NICOLA] Female, 20s, any ethnicity. Charlie's girlfriend since school. Steel willed, she is driven and uncompromising. She knows what she wants and goes for it. Has a great pop voice.

[DON] Male, 30s – 40s, Caucasian. Lola’s nemesis. Burly hyper-masculine bear of a factory worker. Has a strong pop/rock voice.

[GEORGE] Male, 40s-50s, any ethnicity. Factory manager keeping up traditions. Reserved.
