PREPARATION

Please prepare a short song of your choice. If you know a song In Yiddish, that would be preferable. If you do not, a song in English is great. The song should be fun and funny and high energy. Please bring sheet music in the
proper key. An accompanist will be provided. You will also be asked to sing a few phrases of a song in Yiddish. The link to the text, sheet music and audio files can be found here:

KIDS & YIDDISH: THE MISHEGAS CONTINUES (A MUSICAL REVUE)

SYNOPSIS: Kids & Yiddish: The Mishegas Continues is a wildly entertaining, family-friendly Jewish-themed show! A New York Times critic’s pick, Kids & Yiddish introduces children to the Yiddish language through Billboard chart-topping songs and pop culture in the style of Sesame Street meets Saturday Night Live. 90% English. 10% Yiddish. 100% FUN!

We are seeking performers with strong vocal skills, dance training and a working acquaintance with Yiddish or a great ear for language. Tumbling, juggling and puppetry experience is a plus. Playing a musical instrument is a plus (especially piano, clarinet, accordion, guitar, and/or drums) KIDS AND YIDDISH is performed mainly in English with about ten percent of the show performed in Yiddish.
