BLUE GIRL
A blue-blooded fashion model. Sophisticated, poised, and cool. She is vain and not particularly friendly. Female, 20-30 yrs old. Range: F3 - F5

GREEN GIRL
A good-time girl. Blousy, middle-class, and zany. She is a bit frayed at the edges, and hopelessly single. A comedian of sorts. Female, 30-40 yrs old. Range: F3 - F5

ORANGE GIRL
The mother of the group. Domestic and maternal, she is wise, soulful, and mature. Slowly asserting her new-found independence. Female, 35-45 yrs old. Range: F3 - B5

RED GIRL
The baby of the group, she is an exciting blend of youthful contradictions. Quirky, enthusiastic, and naïve. A hopeless romantic who is insecure about her looks. Female, 18-25 yrs old. Range: F3 - G5

YELLOW GIRL
A loud, uninhibited American girl driven by her emotions. She is a ray of sunshine with a surprising vulnerability. Possesses a big, rock diva belt. Female, 25-35 yrs old. Range: F3 - E5

CHAD
(25-35 – baritone): a great-lookin', motorcycling, guitar-playing, leather-jacketed roustabout.

JIM HALLER
(mid 40's-50's - baritone): Natalie's widowed father.

SYLVIA
(mid 40's - alto): the no-nonsense, African-American owner of SYLVIA'S HONKY-TONK.

LORRAINE
(female belt 14-22) Sylvia's 16 year-old daughter.

DENNIS:
(20-30 – tenor) a young, awkward, aspiring dentist.

MISS SANDRA
(24-33 – alto) the beautiful, intellectual caretaker of the town's museum.

MAYOR MATILDA HYDE
(mid 40's-50's - alto): the town's conservative mayor.

DEAN HYDE:
(14-22 – tenor) Matilda's 16 year-old son. He has grown up at a military boarding school.

SHERIFF EARL
(mid 40's-50's - baritone): the law in town. A man of not many words.

JEAN-MICHEL
baritone - must appear to be 20 years old; handsome; brunette; masculine, well-mannered, educated; desperately in love with his fiancee, Anne; lyric baritone who acts, sings, and moves well

JACOB
black male butler/maid in his early 20's; brilliant comedian who sings and moves well

ANNE
18-21; Jean-Michel's fiancee; lovely to look at; spunky; a superb dancer who acts well

EDOUARD DINDON
Anne's father; right-wing radical politician; pompous; quirky; must sing, move well, and be a fine comedian

MARIE DINDON
Anne's mother; 48-52, shy, retiring, sexually repressed and sex-starved; good singer and actress who moves well; must look great in a leotard for the finale

JACQUELINE

mature, male friend of Georges and Albin; owns a small cafe; understudies both of the 2 leads
