Imagination Stage Season 2011-2012

Metered street parking and covered lot next door.

rfox@imaginationstage.org. AEA members without appointments will be seen as time permits.

Prepare monologue no more than 90-seconds. Also prepare a brief Musical Theatre song, up-beat or ballad. Bring sheet music if you plan on singing; an accompanist will be provided.

ALADDIN'S LUCK

1st rehearsal: 8/29/11. Previews begin: 9/23/11. Runs: 10/1/11-10/30/11

Seeking:

Aladdin:

Male, romantic lead, singer, age 20-30.

Leilah/Mother/Omar/Wolf:

Female, romantic lead, Aladdin's adventurous best friend, singer, age 20-30

Al Zaranti/Sultan/Servant:

Male, character actor, conniving villain, singer, not age specific.

DR. DOLITTLE

A musical written by Randy Courts

1st rehearsal: 10/31/11. Previews begin:11/22/11. Runs 12/3/11-1/8/12.

Seeking:

Dolittle/Hugh Lofting:

Male ingenue, father figure trying to shield his son from sorrows of war and still have a real relationship with him, singer, not age specific .

Colin:

Male, 20-30 to play a child, eager to grow up and fight, searching for a relationship with his father, singer.

Flora/Polynesia:

Colin's mother, patient and thoughtful. Also the bird Polynesia who accompanies Colin and Dolittle on their travels providing advice and support. Singer not age specific.

Captain/Squire/Organ Grinder/Cha-Cha/Pullyu/Pirate Ben Ali:

Male character actor, gruff and tough but lovable. Singer not age specific

Peters/Sarah Dolittle/Plow Horse/Chee Che/Shark One:

Female character actor, friend and ally of Dr. Dolittle/Lofting, stubborn but kind at heart. Singer not age specific.

Wilson/Gub-Gub/King/Pushmi/Lioness:

Male/Female, character actor, egotistical and proud but also caring and maternal/paternal. Singer not age specific.

Banks/Jip-Jip/Guard/Lion/Shark Two:

Male, strong, loud and opinionated; stubborn but well-intentioned. Singer not age specific.

P'NOKIO

A new hip-hop musical written by Psalmayene 24

1st rehearsal: 1/10/12. Previews begin: 2/1/12. Runs 2/4/12-3/11/12.

Seeking:

P'Nokio:

Male, computer animated child played by adult actor, very innocent and naïve but eager to learn and explore the world. Singer (hip-hop) age 20-30.

G'Petto:

Male, computer programmer, kind fatherly figure to P'Nokio. Singer (hip-hop) age 25-40.

Graffitti Fairy:

Female. Magical, confident, strong, kind, and a teacher figure to P'Nokio. She is the essence of cool. Singer (hip-hop) not age specific.

Fox Madoff:

Male/Female character actor. Calculating, arrogant, greedy and selfish leader of the bad guys. He knows what he wants, and he always gets his way. Singer (hip-hop) not age specific.

Cat Burglar:

Male/Female comedic character actor. Willing and eager sidekick to Fox Madoff, though not particularly smart. Not age specific.

RAPUNZEL

Female ingenue, strong willed, confident, and adventurous. Singer age 20-30.

Witch/Wigmaker:

Female character actor, self-conscious. Not age specific.

Prince Brian/Cobbler:

Male ingenue, valient, proud, and adventurous. Singer age 20-30.

Simon the Valet/Innkeeper/King:

Clever, funny, helpful, and practical sidekick to the prince. Singer not age specific.

THE LION THE WITCH AND THE WARDROBE

Peter:

Singer. 18+ to play a child. Male ingénue. Headstrong and brave, leader of the family.

Edmond:

Singer. 18+ to play a child. Male ingenue. Jealous of Peter and very stubborn. Still very much a child.

Lucy:

18+ to play a child. Female ingenue. The baby of the family, she is innocent, trusting, kind, and forgiving.

Susan:

18+ to play a child. Female ingenue. Beautiful, smart and practical. She is what holds the family together.
