THE LEGEND OF GEORGIA MCBRIDE
Director: Lauren Warhol Caldwell. 1st rehearsal: Sept. 22 Run: Oct. 13 - Nov. 5

He’s young, he’s broke, his landlord’s knocking at the door, and he’s just found out his wife is going to have a baby. To make matters even more desperate, Casey is fired from his gig as an Elvis impersonator in a run-down, small-town Florida bar. When the bar owner brings in a B-level drag show to replace his act, Casey finds that he has a whole lot to learn about show business—and himself.

Casey/Georgia McBride: 20s, Southern. Casey: a charismatic and good-looking small town high school football star turned Elvis impersonator; a loyal, loving husband who dreams big; he hasn't yet had to grow up and take responsibility for his life/family. Georgia: a drag queen with Elvis, country, and rock 'n' roll roots, but ultimately a wholly original creation and a force of nature; sexy, flirtatious, and fierce.

Jo: 20s, Southern; Casey's wife; tough without being bitchy; works hard in a service job; insecure about her appearance; she is perhaps not the striking, sexy girl she once was, but those qualities are just below the surface.

Rexy/Jason: 30s, Male, multiple roles. Rexy: feisty and sharp-tongued with a dark past; fancies herself the most sophisticated in the room; thrives on conflict but has great respect for the history and art of drag. Jason: the sweet best friend of Jo and Casey.

Eddie: 30s, Male, multiple roles. Eddie: the easily flustered, hot-headed owner of a struggling dive bar; longs for the dimly remembered glory days of high school; becomes an amateur showman who loves the spotlight; cousin to Tracy.

Miss Tracy Mills: 40s, Male. Sweet-natured drag queen, and drag mother to Casey; her impeccable timing, wit, and charm can disarm anyone; she thrives on being a mentor, but is ruthlessly pragmatic when she needs to be; ready to find a home and build something meaningful and lasting.

A whimsical musical that tells the story of two best friends -- the cheerful Frog and curmudgeonly Toad -- and follows them through four colorful seasons, from hibernation to hibernation. Frog: 20s-30s, Male, confident, good-natured, the natural leader of the friendship; able to accept life as it comes to him; strong, charismatic lead role, balancing both jazz numbers and ballads; voice: light, pleasant baritone; however, one song sits around high G# and A.

Toad: 20s-30s, Male, anxious, neurotic, and a tad awkward, but with a very big heart; manages to turn small incidents into ordeals by caring just a little too much; meaty comic lead role with a lot of singing;

voice: character voice, but pleasant; mid-range but also needs to be comfortable with high E on staff.

Turtle/Mother Frog/Mole/Squirrel/Bird: 20s-40s, Female, multiple roles; very jazzy; dancing a plus; versatile comic supporting role; voice: high range (A) as Mother Frog. Bossy, sarcastic, and a bit of an instigator.

Mouse/Young Frog/Mole/Squirrel/Bird: 20s-40s, Female, multiple roles; dancing a plus; versatile comic supporting role; voice: mid-range, close harmony. Plucky, inquisitive.

Snail/Lizard/Bird: 20s-50s, Male, multiple roles; very high energy, requiring stylized movement and inventive comic ideas; voice: rich, bluesey, show-stopping middle but with a high G#, tenor in 3-part trio with Mouse and Turtle.

Jay “The Sport” Jackson dreams of being the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world. But it’s 1905, and in the racially segregated world of boxing, his chances are as good as knocked out. When a crooked boxing promoter hatches a plan for “the fight of the century,” “The Sport” just might land a place in the ring with the reigning white heavyweight champion.

Jay: 20s-30s, African American, an athlete through-and-through, but one who operates with the swagger of an artist. A lovable bravado. Keenly aware of how he is about to change history. Stubborn. Kind. Complicated.

Wynton: 50s-60s, African American, Jay's trainer, a face that's seen a lot. Smart enough to operate in a professional world, scrappy enough to roll up his sleeves and fight in a back alley when necessary. A paternal figure, former athlete of another era.

Nina: 30s, African American, Jay's fierce older sister; protective mother; highly attuned to social injustice; challenges Jay’s path at every turn; immovable, stern, smart, loving.

RIPCORD
by David Lindsay-Abaire
Director: TBD. 1st rehearsal: Feb 9 Run: March 2 - March 25

A sunny room on an upper floor is prime real estate in the Bristol Place Senior Living Facility, so when the cantankerous Abby is forced to share her quarters with new-arrival Marilyn, she has no choice but to get rid of the infuriatingly chipper woman by any means necessary. A seemingly harmless bet between the old women quickly escalates into a dangerous game of one-upmanship that reveals not just the tenacity of these worthy opponents, but also deeper truths that each would rather remain hidden.

Abby Binder: 60s-80s, a blunt, no-nonsense, stern resident at Bristol Place Senior Living; she uses her biting humor to prohibit people from getting close to her; her past has left her with a simmering bitterness.

THE CHRISTIANS
by Lucas Hnath
Director: Lauren Warhol Caldwell. 1st rehearsal: March 30 Run: April 20 - May 13

Twenty years ago, Pastor Paul's church was nothing more than a modest storefront. Now he presides over a congregation of thousands, with classrooms for Sunday School, a coffee shop in the lobby, and a baptismal font as big as a swimming pool. Today should be a day of celebration. But Paul is about to preach a sermon that will shake the foundations of his church's belief. A big-little play about faith in America—and the trouble with changing your mind.

Pastor (Paul): 40s, a man of integrity, he is enormously charismatic with an inspiring presence; caught in a serious crisis of faith and a new understanding about what he truly believes; must walk a fine line away from arrogance but maintain strong confidence and the righteousness of his convictions.

Wife (Elizabeth): 30s-40, intelligent, bound with deep conviction to her faith, confused but steady in her opposition to the changes Paul is outlining; deeply emotional but lacks sentimentality or neurosis.

Associate Pastor (Joshua): 20s-30s, a wayward soul who came to the church years earlier and was taken in and given a spiritual home; a strong sense of integrity, honesty, directness without being abrasive or hostile.

Elder (Jay): 50s-60s, a church elder; represents the financial and operational needs of the church; he tries to remain a voice of reason as the situation worsens.

Congregant (Jenny): 20s-30s, a congregant; a working class, single mother struggling financially, she has found assistance and support within the church; is now deeply afraid of the impact of the controversy on her personal life and faith but is not afraid to ask confrontational questions.
