SEEKING

Equity actors for roles in Guthrie Theater's 2023-24 Season (See breakdown).

An accompanist will only be provided on 3/24

Roles in all productions will be understudied except for ON BECKETT.

PREPARATION

Please prepare 2 contrasting monologues of your choosing--total material around 4 mins. Pieces could be from shows in the season/similar themes or pieces you love & speak to you & your world view. If you are singing on the 24th, please prepare a brief 32 bars from the musical theater repertoire. An accompanist will only be provided on 3/24.

SEEKING:

APRIL DAKOTA - 20s, female or non-binary presenting, Dakota. Vegan foodie, organic, returned home after being gone for years. Wants to implement some new ways to preserve the culture but personally just wants to be accepted by her people.

ESME WILLIAMS - 30s, female or non-binary presenting, non-Indigenous. Comes across a little new age but is very successful in the business of uptowning neighborhoods.



ROBERT DAKOTA - 40+, male presenting, Dakota. April's dad who runs a Native casino. An authority. An entrepreneur heart who is sincerely interested in legacy and how to keep that within the community.

COMMISSIONER BOBBIE GREY - any age, female or non-binary presenting, Dakota. Commissioner of District 4 on Franklin Ave. Young elder, known as the boss lady. Wants what is best for her community.

HERB O'GEEZHIK - oldest in the cast, male presenting, Ojibwe. The funny elder you wanna be when you grow up. He goes off on tangents but means well.

LEVI MITCHELL - younger than Robert, male presenting, Dakota. An elder before his time. That Native who grew up on the reservation and never lets you forget it.

DAISY CHILDS - Younger than Herb but older than Robert, female presenting, Dakota. Comical foil to Herb. Has lived in Minnesota her whole entire life and has seen things change and is mostly OK with it.

HOPE PIEWANNAKWAT - 20s, female or non-binary presenting, Anishinaabe. Administrator for District 4 on Franklin Avenue. Grew up in the city with April. An organizer and pays attention to detailed orientated and task driven. Not easily impressed.
