Seeking Very Strong Actor/Singers.

This will be a diverse production and actors from underserved communities are STRONGLY encouraged to attend.

Connecticut and Westchester actors encouraged to attend.

ALL ACTORS MUST BE FULLY VAXED WITH PROOF OF VACCINATION.

PREPARATION

Please prepare a song in the style of the show. Accompanist provided. No video submissions will be accepted at this time.

Production is all live and runs 4/12/24 - 4/28/24 weekends only.

Music Theatre of Connecticut will conclude its 37th season with the Award-winning musical GHOST. MTC is located in a beautiful theatre center in Norwalk, CT, and the company has won numerous Best awards both

BroadwayWorld and Connecticut Critics' Circle Awards, including the prestigious Killen Award for Outstanding Contribution to Professional Theatre, joining Long Wharf, Hartford Stage and the Westport Playhouse.

An Equity Monitor will not be provided. The producer will run all aspects of this audition.

BREAKDOWN

SAM WHEAT (Male), extremely strong singer, charming, naturalistic leading man and the hero of our story; 30 – 40, moves well; very fit; guitar a plus. Vocal range: G# to Bb (Pop/Rock Tenor with high belt)

MOLLY JENSEN (Female), extremely strong singer, 30 – 35, An artist living in New York City with her boyfriend, Sam, until he's murdered. Sweet, smart but too trusting. Must help Sam avenge his death. Vocal range G3 to Eb5 (pop/rock with strong belt),

ODA MAE BROWN (Female), African-American, Dynamic singer, larger-than-life character, smart, sincere, comedic, spiritual advisor in her storefront séance parlor in Brooklyn; told as a child that she had the gift by her mother and grandmother (who were both able to communicate with the dead), Oda Mae did not actually experience communication with the spirits until she met Sam Wheat during a séance for an unrelated client. Strong mover. Vocal range: Ab3 to F5.

CARL BRUNER (Male) Sam’s best friend, 30-40, has hidden unsavory motives, has a wide range. Stage combat experience a plus. Vocal range: Eb3 to A4

WILLIE LOPEZ/ENSEMBLE (Male), strong singer, person of color, 25-35, menacing/dangerous, street-smart thug hired by Carl to steal Sam Wheat’s wallet, which results in Sam’s murder. Stage combat experience a plus.

SUBWAY GHOST/ORLANDO JONES/ENSEMBLE (Male), Aggressive ghost who eventually aids Sam in learning about his powers in the afterlife. Extremely physical role with a large imposing force, Stage combat and physicality/movement experience preferred, Experience with rap is helpful.

CLARA/ORTISHA JONES/FIRST NUN/ENSEMBLE (Female) Works with Oda Mae at her spiritual shop. Comedic, has a strong voice. Age Range: 25-40

LOUISE/OFFICER WALLACE/ENSEMBLE (Female), amazing singer, African American/mixed race, 25-40, comedic, Vocal Range: F3-G5, one of Oda Mae's helpers at her séance parlor; comedic part.
