BREAKDOWN

PRINCIPALS:

[KATHERINE BLAKE] This role is cast.

[ELLIE BLAKE] Actor 18+ to play 16. Female, Any Ethnicity. Funny, smart, our story’s disorganized, rumpled hero. A misunderstood “everygirl” navigating the minefield of high school. Passionate about her school's underground scavenger hunt, but sees herself as easily forgotten - unlike her perfect mom. Must also portray Katherine Blake in Ellie's body - poised, professional, mature, organized to a fault, no-nonsense, over-protective - the antithesis to Ellie’s chaos. Strong belter. (F3-E5)

[FLETCHER BLAKE] Male, Any Ethnicity, 8-11. Ellie’s younger brother and Katherine’s mildly eccentric son. A magic lover and an avid puppeteer. Constantly annoying his sister, he secretly looks up to her. The baby of the family, sensitive, a good kid, he absorbs more than he’s given credit for. (F3-Bb4)

[MIKE RILEY] Male, Any Ethnicity, 40’s - 50’s. Katherine’s fiancé. A warm, easygoing, relatable guy - he balances Katherine’s over the top organiz

[ADAM] Male, Any Ethnicity. Actor 18+ to play teens. Ellie’s not-so-secret crush, the feeling is mutual. Popular, adorable, cool, everyone can’t help but love him. The List Master of the school's epic annual underground scavenger hunt. Tenor. (F4-C3)

[TORREY] Female, Any Ethnicity, Late 20’s - 30’s. Katherine’s high strung, perfectionist assistant. A workaholic who takes an unhealthy amount of pride in what she does and constantly craves validation. She idolizes Katherine and the business she’s managed to build, and is distraught when she sees Katherine falter from her usually perfect self. Mezzo.

[SAVANNAH] Female. Any Ethnicity. Actor 18+ to play teens. A winner. Popular, biting, brilliant, and scary. Ellie’s adversary, the mean girl in school, she’s used to getting exactly what she wants, and won’t stand for anyone getting in her way. Contemporary belt (D4-Db5)

ENSEMBLE:

THE TEENS:

[HANNAH / FEMALE TEEN ENSEMBLE] Actor 18+ to play teens. Female, Any Ethnicity. One of Ellie’s best friends. A nerd, computer geek. Athletic hip-hop dancer, contemporary singer.

[GRETCHEN / FEMALE TEEN ENSEMBLE] Actor 18+ to play teens. Female, Any Ethnicity. One of Ellie’s best friends. Intense, emotional, lacks confidence. Not a leader. Athletic hip-hop dancer, contemporary singer.

[LAUREL / FEMALE TEEN ENSEMBLE] Actor 18+ to play teens. Female, Any Ethnicity. Athletic hip-hop dancer, contemporary singer.

[MALE TEEN ENSEMBLE (3)] Actor 18+ to play teens. Male, Any Ethnicity. Athletic hip-hop dancers, great singer. Features that will come from the Male Teen ensemble include PARKER, WELLS, and LEWIS.

THE ADULTS:

[MS. MEYERS (gym teacher) / DANIELLE (reporter) / OFFICER SITZ] Female, Any Ethnicity, 40’s. Must move and sing well, and be a solid comedic performer.
