Patsy Cline: Female. Aged 20s. Legendary country singer with a powerful vouce.
Louise Seger: Female. Aged 40-60. Mom of two kids .Fierce, outgoing, warm, and sharp sense of humor and comedy. Big personality. A Texas housewife and fan of Patsy Cline.

Justin Hicks: Male. 25. Offbeat, sweet, anxious. A bundle of nerves. Works at the Quail Valley country club but is a talented golfer in his own right. In love with Louise.
Louise Heinbedder: Female. 23. Attractive, good-natured, a little ditzy. In her own world, which is very innocent and wonderful to visit. In love with Justin.
Henry Bingham: Male. 40s-50s. Executive director of Quail Valley country club. Boisterous with a sarcastic streak. In an unhappy marriage with Muriel.
Muriel Bingham: Female. 40s-50s. A strong, sturdy, loud woman with a fighting spirit.
Dickie Bell: Male. Mid 40s-50s. Executive director of a rival country club. Pompous, pretentious. Obnoxiously cheerful, unpleasant man with a fondness for ugly golfing sweaters.
Pamela Peabody: Female. Aged 39. Beautiful, sophisticated, and elegant with impeccable clothes. A member of the Quail Valley Country club. Recently divorced from Dickie, in love with Henry.

Inspector Goole: Male. 50s. Solid, purposeful with a large presence. Speaks carefully. Mysterious.
Arthur Birling: Male. 50s. A manufacturer. Heaving looking, portentous man with manners of his class but simple in his speech.
Sybil Birling: Female. 50s. Married to Arthur. Cold woman who is socially superior to her husband. .
Eric Birling: Male. 20s. Not quite at ease. At times shy, but can be assertive when necessary. Son of Sybil and Arthur.
Sheila Birling: Female. 20s. Pretty, content, enthusiastic, and hopeful. Daughter to Sybil and Arthur. Newly engaged to Gerald.
Gerald Croft: Male. 30s-40s. Attractive. Well-dressed man-about-town. Newly engaged to Sheila.
Edna: Female. 20s. The family’s maid. Represents the working class, which the Birlings ignore and abuse.

Note: The action takes place in Alabaster, Alabama. June and Weezy are part of the landscape, and dialects will be used. Alice is an outsider.
Alice: Female. 30s. A photographer from New York. Bright, outgoing, brave.
June: Early 30s. A southern folk artist. Guarded, nervous. Wicked sense of humor. Can be very bluntly honest.
Weezy: Female. 40s-50s. A goat. She is aware that she is a goat. A wise, Yoda, Gandalf, Mr. Miyagi type character. She is blunt, funny, of the earth, and razor sharp. She protects June but also keeps June honest.
Bib: Female. An old goat. Unwell. Weezy’s mama. This character doe’s speak, but should have a strong presence and timing.

BAREFOOT IN THE PARK

Corie Bratter: Female. Mid 20s. A spontaneous free-spirit always in search of the latest fad. Enthusiastic, fearless, and strong. Newly married to Paul.
Paul Bratter: Male. Mid 20s. A straight-laced attorney working on his career trajectory. Neither spontaneous nor a free-spirit. Newly married to Corie.
Ethel Banks: Female. 40s-50s. Corie’s cautious mother, sharp with a dry wit.
Victor Velasco: Male. 40s-50s. The Bratters’ eccentric, bohemian neighbor who lives in the attic of the brownstone, just above their apartment. Considers himself to be a charmer.
Telephone Repair Man: Male, 40-60. A good-humored man who makes observations on everyday life and relationships as he installs and fixes telephones.
Delivery Person: 50s-60s. An older man who brings wedding gifts sent to the Bratters-and is exhausted by all the flights of stairs leading up to the apartment.

Monty Navarro: Male. 30s. Handsome and effortlessly charming, clever and charismatic, vulnerable and endearing, with a highly developed appreciation for life’s ironies. High baritone with a strong top; solid low A to high A.
Miss Shingle: 30s-50s. A Cockney housekeeper/governess who served a wealthy, titled family for 30 years. Must be a strong character actress. Mezzo soprano, G to high A. May play other roles.
Sibella Hallward: Female. Late 20s-mid 30s. A calculating, willful, flirtatious narcissist with a quick wit and high style. Truly loves Monty. Seeking a strong mover. Character mezzo, low F# to high A, belting not required.
Phoebe D’Ysquith: Female. Early 20s-early 30s. Beautiful, virtuous, forthright, romantic, comically earnest, yet has a backbone of steel. Sophisticated, yet innocent. Not a typical ingénue, and the actress must have sense of humor and comic style behind her innocence. Coloratura soprano up to a high sustained C# with an optional high Eb. Very flexible and agile, B below middle C on the bottom.
The D’Ysquith Family: Played by one actor. Male. 30s – mid 50s. Must be an experienced, skilled, and comedic actor with a keen understanding of British farce. Physical comedy and stamina are essential. Should be a strong character singer. Plays a full range of archetypal English characters:

Narrator: The Narrator can be played by a woman or a man of any age or ethnicity. The actor must be charming, engaging, and warm. Seeking an actor with strong comic and dramatic skills, and who is comfortable acting with the audience and with improvisation. Experience with one-person plays would be helpful. Most importantly, the play must feel spontaneous and authentic. The actor should radiate honesty and empathy. Seeking an actor with a keen sense of humor who is willing to play.

Nora: Female. 40s. Independent, wealthy in her own right, a successful author. Takes great pride in her autonomy. Her difficult life has sharpened her wits. Fearless.
Torvald: Male. 40s-50s. Estranged husband of Nora. Appears measured and reserved, but feels a storm of emotion at Nora’s return.
Anne Marie: Female. 60s. Family nurse who raised Nora and Torvald’s children. Practical, shrewd, tough, and funny.
Emmy: Female. 20s. Nora and Torvald’s daughter. Bright and clever. Well-adjusted. Newly engaged to be married and looking forward to a traditional marriage.

Abby Binder: Female. 70s-80s. Stern, cold, and angry woman. Not easily frightened, used to getting her way.
Marilyn Dunn: Female. 70s-80s. Easy-going, free spirit. Friendly, gentle, and kind. Not easily angered.
Benjamin/Lewis/Clown: Male. 40s Plays multiple characters. Benjamin: the estranged son of Abby, recovering addict, shy and a little rough around the edges. Trying to make a better life. Lewis: Marilyn’s son, lively and friendly. Clown: an actor in a haunted house who plays an evil clown.
Scotty: Male, 20s-30s. Aide at a retirement home, amateur actor. Bright, dedicated to his job, adheres to the rules that Abby tries to bend.
Colleen/Woman in White: Female, 30s. Colleen: Marilyn’s daughter, wife of Derek. Bright, friendly, and fierce. Woman in white: an actress in a haunted house.
Derek/Zombie Butler/Masked Man: Male, 30s. Derek: Colleen’s husband, more cautious and realistic than his wife. Zombie Butler: leads the haunted house tour. Masked man: actor in the haunted house.
