ANNIE

Daddy Warbucks
30's-40's; commanding presence, attractive, stoic with a big heart; strong baritone voice; the actor playing this role must shave his head.

Miss Hannigan
comic character woman; 30's-50's; long suffering, self pitying caretaker of a bunch of rambunctious orphans- including Annie, good singing voice, must move well

Rooster Hannigan
30's; comic character; weasely younger brother of Miss Hannigan; small time con man, oily charm; must sing and move very well.

Grace Farrell
20's-30's; private secretary to Warbucks; lovely leading lady with strong mezzo voice; elegant and warm

Lily St. Regis
20's stereotypical gun moll of the 30's; brash, sexy; must sing and move well; must handle comedy.

Bert Healy
20's - 40's; self important radio variety host; unctuous charm; must sing well

FDR
40's-50's must do a credible imitation of Franklin Roosevelt, will double as the cop in the first act

Seeking:

BUDDY HOLLY 19 – 28 singer-songwriter and star from Lubbock, Texas. Buddy is intelligent, charismatic. Must play guitar, sing and act and have a feel for rock ‘n’ roll. ETHNICITY: Any ethnicity

RICHIE VALENS 19 – 25 good-looking with charisma, a dedicated eye for the ladies, and the ability to hold the stage in his own right. His key song is “La Bamba.” Must be able to act and move well. The ability to play a musical instrument is an advantage but not required. ETHNICITY: Latino/Hispanic

JP RICHARDSON (THE BIG BOPPER) 28 – 55 a former DJ, he is a Texan with an irrepressible larger than-life character with the ability to command the stage on his own as a single performer. His key song is “Chantilly Lace.” The ability to play a musical instrument is an advantage but not required. ETHNICITY: Any ethnicity

JOE B MAULDIN 20-30 double bass player, one of Buddy’s band, The Crickets. Serious, square young man with musical ability. Must be able to sing and act. ETHNICITY: Any ethnicity

JERRY ALLISON 20-30 drummer, one of Buddy’s band, The Crickets. Good looking, irrepressible cheeky guy with musical ability. Must be able to sing and act. ETHNICITY: Any ethnicity

MARIA ELENA HOLLY 18-25 Buddy Holly’s wife attractive, classy, and well-educated. Must be able to sing and act.
ETHNICITY: Latino/Hispanic

HIPOCKETS DUNCAN late 20s-40s an exuberant hometown radio DJ from Lubbock, Texas, with an air of authority and a keen sense of humor. Must be able to sing. The ability to play a musical instrument is an advantage but not required.
ETHNICITY: Any ethnicity

NORMAN PETTY late 20s-40s a record producer from Clovis, New Mexico, with a businesslike manner and a love of making records. Must be able to sing. The ability to play a musical instrument is an advantage but not required.
ETHNICITY: Any ethnicity

VI PETTY late 20s-40s the wife of Norman with a heart of gold and a good sense of humor.. Must be able to sing and act and have exceptional rock ‘n’ roll keyboards ability, ETHNICITY: Any ethnicity

APOLLO PERFORMERS 4 males and females, any age, ability to hold the stage on his/her own. Key song “Shout” Must have good comic timing and be able to act. ETHNICITY: African American
