BREAKDOWN
STORYLINE: A little girl’s disappearance prompts a tense confrontation among a plumber, college professor, and teenage boy. In this gripping psychological thriller, three neighbors discover how far they are willing to go to defend the values – and the secrets – that define them.
Phil:
Male (50s), any ethnicity. Phil, a plumber, is a loving husband and father that fiercely protects his family and the neighborhood from perceived dangers. He is intelligent, unpredictable, with a sly, disarming sense of humor. Phil is dangerous.
Ethan:
Male (40s), any ethnicity. Ethan is a tenured professor of Comparative Literature at Princeton University. He is married, no children. He uses his keen intellect to distance himself from others and to mask his vulnerabilities. Ethan is fierce when cornered.
Jamie:
Male, (16 yo), any ethnicity. Jamie, a high school student, is a mystery, an enigma. He is a seemingly innocent, confused teenager, living with his abusive father. Marginalized and a social outcast, Jamie spends his nights drawing a graphic novel. Jamie is a liar.
