Prepare 32 bar cut in the style of the show that you are interested in being considered for or two 16 bar cuts in the style of 2 of the productions. Please bring your headshot resume and your music cuts.

FRANCIS: (20-35, male-identifying, any ethnicity, Second tenor-Lyric Baritone, F3-B5): Strong Singer/Harmonizer. Grounded Actor. Leader. Confident and humble. Asthmatic. Compassionate. Romantic crooner and spiritual singer. Directing the group to what comes next. Constantly connecting with the audience, experience with audience participation is a plus.
SPARKY: (20-35, male-identifying, any ethnicity, Baritone, F3-G5): Strong Singer/Harmonizer. Grounded Actor. Clown. Sharp. Wears a retainer. Clever. Energetic. Performs boldly but shows a tender side. Stepbrother of Jinx. Piano playing skills are a plus.
JINX: (20-35, male-identifying, any ethnicity, Tenor, F3-C6): Strong Singer/Harmonizer. Grounded Actor. Shy. Anxiety ridden. Gets a nosebleed when singing above A. He doesn’t always remember the order of the set. He steps into himself to becoming a confident man. Stepbrother of Sparky.
SMUDGE: (20-35, male-identifying, any ethnicity, Bass, F3-G5): Strong Singer/Harmonizer. Grounded Actor. Worrier. Perfectionist. Has stage fright. Left-handed. Struggles to remember the choreography. He comes to relish in the present. Not eager to start the show, but he’s the last to leave. Unknowingly hiding his good looks under his glasses.
UNDERSTUDIES: Two external understudies to cover two tracks each. Strong Singer/Harmonizer. Grounded actor.

JIM HARDY: (30s, male-identifying, Baritone-Lyric): Strong singer. Sincere, honest, albeit jealous at times, he is kind. A Singer-songwriter who wants to leave showbiz behind for the country life in Connecticut.
TED HANOVER: (30s, male-identifying, Baritone-Lyric): Strong dancer/tapper. Charming, a flirt, on the look for his next break. Jim’s best friend and performing partner.
LINDA MASON: (30s, female-identifying, Soprano, Mezzo-Soprano): Strong singer/dancer. Smart, spirited, and loyal. The small town’s school teacher with amazing talent who gets her time to shine at the Inn with Jim.
Supporting:
LILA DIXON: (20s- early 30s, female-identifying, Mezzo-Soprano): Strong tapper/dancer. Dreamer, ambitious, always looking for the spotlight. A determined performer and Jim’s fiancée, but they aren’t a good match.
LOUISE BADGER: (40s, female-identifying, Mezzo-Soprano/Alto) Strong comedic actor and singer. Tough, no nonsense, perceptive, and generous. Local “fix it” woman who was the caretaker of the farm before, and wants to see it back in its glory.

KING MONGKUT, THE KING OF SIAM: (Male-Identifying, Asian/Asian American Identifying, Baritone (C3-E4), 40s-50s). Powerful. Strong willed. Regal. Opinionated. Conflicted. Intellectual. Father. He is secure in his power and is serious about bringing Western knowledge to his country. He has never known anyone to question his authority, which brings out a different side to him. He is seen as physically and spiritually above everyone else in the room. Everyone shows him the utmost respect.
ANNA LEONOWENS: (Female-identifying, Caucasian, Soprano (B3-D5), RP dialect, 30s-40s) Compassionate. Opinionated. Headstrong. Determined. Loving. Sympathetic. Mother. Adventurous. A recent widow who has traveled far to teach the royal children.She is confident and willing to stand up for what she believes is right. She takes risks. She truly falls in love with the people of Siam (Now Thailand).

LUN THA: (Male-Identifying, Asian/Asian-American Identifying, Tenor (C3-G4), 18-29) Lover. Scholar. Dreamer. While their story is doomed, his love for Tuptim knows no bounds. He plans a courageous mission to have her escape with him back to Burma, but it ends disastrously.
TUPTIM:(Female Identifying, Asian/Asian-American identifying, Soprano (C4-G5) 18-25) Lover. Bold. Smart. She is first presented as a gift to the King and becomes one of his new wives. She is angry at her situation and that she cannot communicate with her lover, Lun Tha. They meet secretly and Anna is sympathetic to their love. She attempts to escape with Lun Tha to disastrous consequences.
LADY THIANG:(Female-Identifying, Asian/Asian-American identifying, Mezzo-Soprano (C#4/Db4-G5), 20s-40s) Wise. Mother. Protective. Noble. Proud. She leads the Kings wives and is mother to the future King, Prince Chulalongkorn. She can see both sides of the King’s nature, and their country’s status in the wider world.
PRINCE CHULALONGKORN: (Male-Identifying, Asian/Asian-American Identifying, Alto (G3-A4), 15-20) Princely. Rigid. Bright. Acting mature for his age as what he knows what his future will be. Befriends Louis. His nature comes from following his father’s footsteps and then Anna’s teachings. *All Minor Actors (actors under the age of 19 who have not yet completed high school) will be auditioned at a later date.
LOUIS LEONOWENS: (Male-identifying, Caucasian, Countertenor (G3-B4), British/RP dialect, 10-15) Polite. Respectful. Curious. A few years younger than the Prince, eager to learn about Siam (now Thailand). Very fond of his mother, and supports all that she does. *All Minor Actors (actors under the age of 19 who have not yet completed high school) will be auditioned at a later date.
THE KRALAHOME:(Male-Identifying, Asian/Asian American Identifying, 30s-50s) Traditional. Imposing. Highly professional and loyal. The Prime Minister to the King, can be seen as terrifying, but it is seriousness out of a love of his King and country. He does not support the King’s flirtation with Western ideas.
SIR EDWARD RAMSAY/CAPTAIN ORTON: (Male-Identifying, Caucasian, 30s-50s, Dialect) Orton: Protective, ship captain, kindly to Anna. Ramsay: Distinguished Statemen, an important player for the country’s diplomacy. Anna knows him from her past.
