**Out of an abundance of caution, the producers have chosen to cancel this EPA for the safety of our members and everyone involved. These EPAs will not be rescheduled. They will be accepting Video Audition Submissions in lieu of the EPAs. A separate notice for Video Submissions will be posted
ASAP with submission information.**

CONTRACT

SPT $354/week current min. (will be revised pursuant to AEA tier salary level increases for 2020)

SEEKING

Equity actors and actor/singers for various roles in the upcoming season. See breakdown.

PREPARATION

Please prepare a short song and 1 minute dialogue of your choice. Total audition time not to exceed 2 minutes. Please bring a head shot and resume.

CAMAE - African-American female 25-45 - a beautiful maid who works in the Lorraine Hotel who is more than she appears to be. Full of mystery, knowledge and light.

First Rehearsal: July 20th Opening: July 30th Closing: August 16th

- Note: This production will be told from Barnum’s memories and all roles, except BARNUM, will be required to play an instrument.

Man 1 - Phineas Taylor Barnum, 30 - 45 - Tenor, Baritone. Enthusiastic, childlike, a bit of a con-artist with a heart of gold.

Man 2 - Ringmaster, James A. Bailey, Ensemble - 30 - 45 - Baritone/Bass. Must play trumpet and percussion.

Man 3 - Tom Thumb, Amos Scudder, Ensemble 25 - 35 - Small in stature but makes up for it in becoming Barnum’s main attraction. Must play an instrument. Prefer, Baritone/Flugelhorn/Sax

Woman 1 - Charity “Chairy” Barnum, 30 - 45, Mrs. Stratton, - Mezzo-Soprano. Rigid, sees the world in black in white with no hopes for grey. Married to Barnum and lets him think he gets away with everything. Mrs. Stratton is Tom Thumb’s mother. Must play: piano, flute, piccolo a plus.

Woman 2 - Joice Heth, Blues Singer, Ensemble 25 - 45 - Seeking African-American female. Strong Alto. Joice is the “oldest woman” on earth who supposedly raised George Washington. Must play an instrument. Clarinet preferred.

Woman 3 - Jenny Lind, Ensemble 25 - 35 - Soprano, Nicknamed the “Swedish Nightingale”, Jenny headlines the oddities tour and then Barnum’s heart. Must play piano. Any other instruments are welcome.

First Rehearsal: August 17th Opening: August 27 Closing: September 6th

Billie Holliday - 35 - 50, must embody the spirit and soul of Billie Holiday. Fantastic actress as we see her personal decline in the course of one fateful evening.

Jimmy Powers - 35 - 50, EXCELLENT jazz pianist and ACTOR! Jimmy is Lady Day’s right hand man. Whatever that capacity may mean to the both of them.
