SEEKING
Male and female actors and actors who sing for a variety of roles for the 2018-2019 season.
PREPARATION
Two monologues:one classical piece and one contemporary piece. Singers should prepare a song from a traditional legit American musical standard. Accompanist will be provided. Bring current picture and resume, sheet music, AEA card.

SAM: A 10-year old girl. African-American. Smart. Sharp. Inquisitive. A little dark as she’s seen more than she’s needed to in her young life. Loving. Able to hold story through silence, but is prone to emotional eruption. Southern Georgia accent.
MONIQUE: SAM’s mother. Early-mid 20s. African-American. A poet. A lost soul. Loving. Must have a fierce yet easy command of language. A brilliant and sharp storyteller struggling with addiction. Trying to consciously break the cycle of loss in her family. Southern Georgia accent.
REGGIE: SAM’s father. Early-mid 20s. African-American. Loving to a fault. A little naive. Charming. Boyish, yet passionate in his responsibilities as a man. Unfaltering in his devotion to Monique. Adores his daughter. Southern Georgia accent
RACHEL: SAM’s aunt. MONIQUE’s sister. African-American. Mid-30s. Warm-hearted. Grounded. Struggling between familial obligations and the comforts of a life devoid of the stresses of her small hometown. Dealing with the guilt of abandoning her little sister and how that manifests in how she cares for her niece. Accent fluctuates between Southern Georgia and Brooklyn
