Seeking
Male and female actors and actors who sing for a variety of roles for the DCTC's 2011-2012 season.

Preparation
Two monologues:one classical piece and one contemporary piece - combined length no more than 3 minutes. Singers should prepare 16 bars of a song from a traditional legit American musical standard. Accompanist will be provided. Bring current picture and resume, sheet music, AEA card.

Season runs from August 16, 2011 - May 13, 2012

All performers, including those of color, seniors, women, and performers with disabilities, are encouraged to audition and will be given full consideration.

Dorante: A young man just arrived in Paris.
Geronte: Dorante's father.
Cliton: Dorante's servant.
Clarice: A young lady of Paris.
Lucrece: Clarice's best friend.
Alcippe: Clarice's secret fiance.
Philiste: Alcippe's friend.
Isabelle: Vivacious servant to Lucrece.
Sabine: Puritanical servant to Clarice. Note: Isabelle and Sabine are played by the same actress.

Myriam: 55, funny, self deprecating, warm, loving, smart, angry, a great big personality. Most of what she says, she says with a smile, lightly and with good humor…except when it comes to Israel.
Jack: 70, Myriam's husband, a lawyer, a good man, genial, likes things to go smoothly.
Nikki: 30's, Myriam's daughter, half African-American/half white, theater director, smart, politically correct and earnest.
Ginny: 40's or 50's, Christian, likes to laugh, says what she thinks, no filter.
Christopher: Early 20's, Ginny's son, trying to be a Buddhist.
Josh: Late 40's or early 50's, son of Holocaust survivors, Zionist, a no-nonsense lawyer.
Kimiko: Josh's wife, 30's, Japanese, a converted Jew, smart, anxious to do it right.
Rachelle: Late teens or early twenties, Josh's daughter, bright, open, caring, but a mess.
Dan: 40's or 50's, a wry secular humanist, TV writer and member of Narcotics Anonymous.
Alice: 50's, Dan's wife, a feminist, a person of peace, always right.
Mabel: 10, Alice and Dan's Chinese daughter, sensitive but direct.
Lupe: 40's, Mexican, a housekeeper for too long, smart, wry, used to Liberals.
Sam: 50's; Arab-American, teaches history, well spoken, looks like he could be Myriam's brother. Peaceful, reasonable, good sense of humor, and sitting on a fury.

For RING OF FIRE:
Man #1: Late 30's to mid 40's, Johnny Cash type but not impersonating; high-baritone to medium-bass singing range; should be able to play guitar.
Man #2: Early 40's to early 50's, otherwise same as Man #1.
Woman #1: Mid 30's to mid 40's, June Carter type, high rock belt but also able to sing a sweet ballad sound; able to sing both country rock style to pure country style, "leading lady" type but also very natural, down-home sensibility with genuine southern charm, confident stage presence, should be able to play simple three-chord guitar pieces.
Woman #2: Early 40’s to late 40’s, otherwise same as Woman #1
