SEEKING:
CASSIUS CLAY – 22, male, Black. He has just won the world heavyweight boxing title from Sonny Liston and is grappling with his newfound fame. Proud, ambitious, and charming in that special way that young people are. Full of energy, full of desire, full of dreams. There’s no game that he cannot win.
JIM BROWN – 28, male, Black. The star running back for the Cleveland Browns who holds every rushing and touchdown record in the NFL and he knows it. He loves money, power, and sex, but values loyalty more. Anger and pain bubble beneath the surface, but they are masked well by a boisterous sense of humor and charming swagger. Desperate to get out of the game and play by his own rules.
SAM COOKE– 32, male, Black. A bonafide superstar singer with chart-topping and boundary-pushing pop and R&B hits. A true showman with an irresistible charm and creative spark. A warm personality and cool bravado belie his insecurity and fears. He wants to play the game and win it. Actor must have strong vocal chops and ability to perform acapella.
MALCOLM X– 39, male, Black. An inspiring and inspired preacher in the Nation of Islam who has recently been silenced for his negative comments about the death of President Kennedy. Equal parts militant and mindful, he believes in right and wrong and will fight for justice by any means necessary. His passion is contagious and his love overflowing. He wants to break the game.
KAREEM – 35, male, Black. A senior Nation of Islam security guard and a devout follower of Elijah Muhammad. The Fruit of Islam. Knows and minds his place, and will happily help you mind yours if necessary. Disciplined, caring, and studious, he has a quiet strength and powerful sense of self-esteem.
JAMAAL – 24, male, Black. A younger Nation of Islam security guard who works under Kareem as an apprentice. Talkative, energetic, and effortlessly charming, he is young and wild and free.

SEEKING:
IRENE – 50’s-60’s, female. A woman in crisis. Lonely and diminished, but ever hopeful. Her life is small and confined, for now at least. Unexpectedly poetic and effortlessly funny. Teddy’s big sister and Gerry’s wife.
TEDDY – 50’s-60’s, male. Neurotic, sensitive, unexpectedly wise, and even more unexpectedly charming. He still hasn’t figured out that he probably shouldn’t say everything that he thinks right when he thinks it. A conspiracy theorist— or is he? Irene’s baby brother and Gerry’s worst nightmare.
GERRY – 50’s-60’s, male. Cold, detached, and a tad bit menacing, but undeniably funny. A tyrant that isn’t afraid of a tantrum. Irene’s husband and Terry’s nemesis.

SEEKING:
JESSIE – 30’s, female. A warm Midwestern spirit who became a New York City corporate lawyer and is now settling into her new life as a Long Island mom. She is still adjusting to the shift from pants suits to yoga pants. Articulate, kind, and funny, yet anxious about how to balance all of those traits.
LINA – 30’s, female. Definition of South Shore, Long Island. She says what she feels; she doesn’t overthink. Used to competing for attention in her large family, and has the personality, sense of humor, and charm to match. She is the woman whose candor you can’t help but respect and whose bighearted generosity you can’t help but admire.
ADRIENNE – 30’s, female. A successful and fierce career woman, never a hair or a word misplaced. She believes in her brand, and you do too. From the outside looking in, the kind of woman you want to be. Elegant, powerful, reticent, and slightly Rock ‘N’ Roll. She is adjusting to motherhood the best way she knows how.
MITCHELL – 30’s-40’s, male. Adrienne’s husband, works in investment capital and is amazing with numbers, but not so much with people. Scholarship kid who worked hard for his success. His meaning of life used to be status and achievement, but now, fatherhood has changed him. His dreams are softer now. Equal parts serious and sensitive, confused and charming.

SEEKING:
TORI – 45, female, White. Proud owner of the PerkUp PerKup coffee shop. Open and affable, her smile is awfully endearing. An eternal optimist who refuses to linger in her justified resentments. Tries hard to be the best version of herself, but doesn’t always succeed.
VICKI – 36, female, White. Proud employee of PerkUp PerKup. Life came at her fast, but she is rising to the challenge. Her Midwestern values and sense of humor mask her insecurity and disappointment. Her curiosity is charming until it is not.
ERIC – 33, male, White. Proud construction worker who got away. He has learned that the world is bigger and wants you to know it, too. He is quiet and observant, an unsuspecting presence that will take you by surprise.
JEFF – 43, male, White. Proud member of the community. Hardworking but unemployed, he loves his family deeply and is embarrassed by his inability to protect them. A man’s man with an easy command of the room, both his bark and bite make you take notice.
PEDRO – 32, male, half-Black and half-Mexican, Moreno. Proud creative writer with a fierce intellect and open mind. Unassuming, but sure of who he is. Hopes for the best in people and leads with kindness. Doesn’t back down in the face of danger.
