2015 SEASON:

THE VELOCITY OF AUTUMN
by Eric Coble
Directed by Craig MacDonald
REHEARSES MAY 4-21, RUNS MAY 22-JUNE 14

A wickedly funny and wonderfully touching discovery of the fragility and ferocity of life, the plot swirls around Alexandra, a 79-year-old artist in a showdown with her family over where she’ll spend her remaining years. In Alexandra’s corner are her wit, her volcanic passion, and the fact that she’s barricaded herself in her Brooklyn brownstone with enough Molotov cocktails to take out the block. But her children have their own secret weapon: estranged son Chris, who returns after 20 years, and becomes the family’s unlikely mediator. No sooner are the words “Hi, Mom” uttered than the emotional bombs start detonating. The following roles are available:

Seeking:

ALEXANDRA
(late 70’s): A feisty artist in a showdown with her family over where she’ll spend her remaining years.

CHRIS
(mid 40’s): Alexandra’s youngest child, brought in by his two older siblings to try and talk Mom into moving out of her brownstone. He is his mother’s favorite child, also an accomplished artist.

ESCANABA IN DA MOONLIGHT
by Jeff Daniels
REHEARSES JULY 27-AUG 13, RUNS AUG 14-SEPT 6.

When the Soady clan reunites for the opening day of deer season at the family's Upper Peninsula deer camp, thirty-five-year-old Reuben Soady brings with him the infamous reputation of being the oldest Soady in the history of the Soadys never to bag a buck. In a hunting story to beat all hunting stories, the author spins a hilarious tale of humor, horror and heart as Reuben goes to any and all lengths to remove himself from the wrong end of the family record book. The following roles are available:

Seeking:

ALBERT SOADY
(early 60’s): Patriarch of the Soady clan and narrator of the story. Rustic, hard-drinking, rural outdoorsman.

REUBEN SOADY
(35): Albert’s oldest son. Married to Wolf Moon Dance. Carries the distinction of never having bagged a trophy buck. Not the sharpest tool in the shed.

REMNAR SOADY
(33): Albert’s youngest son. No smarter than Reuben, but a good hunter.

JIMMER NEGAMANEE:
Close friend of the Soadys. Was abducted by aliens for an entire weekend, and when he came back he was different. Very different.

RANGER TOM T. TREADO
(early 40’s): Ranger for the DNR. He came up from Detroit for the start of deer season and believes that he saw God up on the ridge.

WOLF MOON DANCE
(30’s): Full-blooded Ojibwa Indian tribe and wife of Reuben Soady. She only appears on the final page and has one line (this role will almost certainly be non-equity).

OTHER DESERT CITIES
a drama by Jon Robin Baitz
Directed by Bill Lelbach
REHEARSES SEPT 7-24, RUNS SEPT 25-OCT 11

Set in Palm Springs over Christmas weekend, Other Desert Cities centers on the powerful Wyeth family. Lyman, an actor-turned-ambassador during the Reagan administration, and his wife Polly, a former screenwriter, are set to celebrate the holidays with their adult children Brooke & Trip. Without informing her parents, Brooke has written a memoir exposing painful family secrets. Trip tries to stay out of the crossfire as their alcoholic aunt, Polly's sister Silda, eggs Brooke on. In a series of confrontations, the Wyeths sift through conflicting memories of the past and face serious choices about how to go forward. The following roles are available:

Seeking:

LYMAN WYETH
(mid to late 60’s): Patriarch of the family, a real patrician of Californian royalty. A handsome Hollywood “B” actor with celebrity and political influence. Seemingly conservative but with a sense of humor about himself and a deep love and caring for his adult children.

POLLY WYETH
(mid 60’s): Lyman’s wife. She is graceful and funny and doesn’t suffer fools gladly. She is deeply devoted to the preservation of family and all it stands for, and even more, the health of her husband.

BROOKE WYETH
(Early to mid 40’s): Lyman and Polly’s adult daughter. A writer who is a New Yorker although born in California. She thrives on solitude, coffee shops, intelligent conversation, and being understood. She loves her family but also her independence.

TRIP WYETH
(mid 30’s): Brooke’s brother. A TV producer – easy going, takes life as it comes, loves being around family and oddly, all its traditions. Devoted to his older sister and her health.

SILDA GRAUMAN
(late 50’s to mid 60’s): Polly’s sister and an alcoholic. A former TV writer who is definitely from the more Bohemian gene in the family. Impulsive, creative, reckless, fragile, funny – she’d rather be living alone but is dependent upon Polly and Wyman for support
