Breakdown

1 male actor:
To play the following role:

David McConnick:
22-35; a clerk in the Union Army, during the height of the Civil War. Energetic, kind, smart, optimistic. A great storyteller.

This character will play 10 other characters in the play, as McConnick re-enacts the story of a Clarksville, TN trial that was ultimately decided by President Abraham Lincoln. The other characters that the clerk plays include:

William Few - a comedic backwoods farmer, 30s

James Shackelford - a well-respected Defense Attorney, 50s

Private Meece - a young and impressionable Union soldier, 16 yrs old, willing to do anything to get off the battlefield, and more…..
