Equity members only. EMC and non-Equity will not been seen at this audition.

Preparation
Please bring a headshot and resume and prepare two contrasting contemporary monologues no longer than a minute each. Sides will be available at the audition. Please email your headshot and resume when you schedule your slot.

Other Dates
Production Dates are TBD. The B1 Mainstage works in a 3 week rehearsal period followed by a 6-7 week run. The B3 Series has a 2-3 week rehearsal period with a 4-5 week run. Both series have the possibility of a 1 week extension.

VENUS IN FUR: Thomas is holding auditions for his adaptation of Venus in Fur. Vanda arrives as Thomas is about to leave and convinces Thomas to let her read for the part of Vanda.

OTHER DESERT CITIES: After a long battle with depression, Brooke has managed to write and sell her second book—a memoir of her life exposing what she sees as her parents’ abandonment of her brother. She comes to her parents’ home on Christmas hoping to gain her family’s blessing before the book is published. Her book opens old wounds, exacerbates existing tensions and resentments, and threatens to tear the family apart.

MY NAME IS ASHER LEV: "Based on the best-selling novel by Chaim Potok (The Chosen), My Name is Asher Lev is a new American play set in post-war Brooklyn, which tells the powerful story of a boy prodigy who must be a painter at any cost- against the will of family, community and tradition."
SEEKING: 2m, 1f; Asher Lev, m, a Hasidic Ladover Jew living in Brooklyn, depicted from 6yrs old to 18-20 yrs old; The Men (played by one m actor), Aryeh Lev (a Russian Hasidic Jew, Asher’s father), Yitzchok Lev (Aryeh’s brother), The Rebbe (prophet and president of Asher’s community, very old), Jacob Kahn (Asher’s teacher, a non-observant Jew); The Women (played by one f actor): Rivkeh Lev (Asher’s mother), Anna Schaeffer (a gallery owner in Manhattan), Rachel (nude model)


BETRAYAL: "The play begins in 1977, with a meeting between adulterous lovers, Emma and Jerry, two years after their affair has ended. During the nine scenes of the play, we move back in time, through the states of their affair, with the play ending in the house of Emma and Robert, her husband, who is Jerry's best friend."

This defect need not be more than suggested on the stage.
