Arizona Theatre Company: 2011-2012 Season: "Sherlock Holmes and the Adventures of the Suicide Club", "God of Carnage" ,"Daddy Long Legs", "The Thirty-Nine Steps", The Great Gatsby" & "Red". Season Opening Date: September 16, 2010. Closing date of season: May 29, 2011. Each production listed previously will be presented in both Tucson and Phoenix, Arizona. Normal is a ten week contract for each show: 4 weeks rehearsal and 3 weeks of performance in Tucson and 3 weeks of performance in Phoenix. 2011 - 2012 season will include a contemporary comedy, two contemporary dramas (regional premiers), an American classic play, a World Premiere and a new musical.
Arizona Theatre Company Guest Directors not confirmed at this time.
Some roles will be understudied.
At this time, all parts in "God of Carnage”, “Daddy Long Legs”, “The Thirty-nine Steps” and “Red” have been cast.
Casting is for all available roles in the "Sherlock Holmes" and “The Great Gatsby”.
The Great Gatsby:
JAY GATSBY - a Romantic Idealist, with a disarming smile
DAISY BUCHANAN - Southern, with a voice that sounds like money
NICK CARRAWAY - Midwestern, with a kind face and gentle manner
TOM BUCHANAN - Daisy's Husband, with a powerful cruel body
JORDAN BAKER - Daisy's Friend, with an athletic almost masculine body
MYRTLE WILSON - Tom's Girlfriend, New York, fleshy and sensual
(All characters above are in their 30s in age).
GEORGE WILSON - Myrtle's Husband, New York, spiritless and anemic -- age –in his 40s.
MEYER WOLFSHIEM/MR. MCKEE/COP/DANCER -- undefined age
