Seeking
Actors (M & F) to portray multiple characters with strong ability to transform physically & vocally, experienced in movement/physical based theater. Mask/Puppetry experience a plus. ESPECIALLY INTERESTED IN PEOPLE OF COLOR, PARTICULARLY LATINOS.

Preparation
Please prepare a short monologue that shows your range and/or ability to transform physically and vocally. All cast members will be playing multiple roles. Time permitting, you may be asked to read a short monologue which will be available the day of the audition.

Closing: November 10, 2013
All performances are matinees - weekday matinees for school groups, and weekends for families.

Breakdown

We are looking to cast an ensemble of experienced, creative, highly imaginative, fearless actors (male and female) to portray multiple characters. Especially seeking actors who:
¶ have a strong ability to transform physically and vocally
¶ are experienced/skilled in movement and physical based theater
¶ Mask or Puppetry experience a plus.
***Especially interested in people of color, particularly Latinos.
AESOP IN RANCHO CUCAMONGA is an adaptation of Aesop's Fables, which uses the history of Rancho Cucamonga as a jumping off point. The play will weave local history and some of the morality fables together as a way, ultimately, to talk about community.

The MainStreet Theatre Company is the resident Equity TYA company at the 536 seat Lewis Family Playhouse, owned and operated by the City of Rancho Cucamonga. We do not provide housing - actors who live over 50 miles from the theatre receive a modest travel stipend. Rehearsals will be held 6 days a week, on a 7/8 schedule.
