BREAKDOWN

Seeking:

“THE REDEEMERS”

CAL
Male, 30s-50s. Does whatever his brother, Wes, says. He was abused by his father as a child. Has night terrors. He is resentful of his youngest brother, Gary Allen.

WES
Male, 30s-50s. He is the oldest of the brothers, and the mastermind behind his and Cal’s violence. Also abused by their father.

GARY ALLEN
Male, 30s-40s. The Sheriff, and the youngest brother. He appears friendly and kind, but is a little too proud of how mature he is. Suffered no abuse from their father as a child, and has prospered more in life than the other two.

“A TOUGH CASE”

CURTIN
Male, 30s-40s. Classic fast-talking, film-noir private investigator. Isn’t always clear with what he says. Always smarter than his partners, yet insists on having a partner. Has romantic feelings towards Lindy.

BAINES
Male, 30s-40s. Well-meaning guy who partners with Curtin to be a P.I. Moronic, to the point where he frequently puts himself in danger and gets injured. Often misunderstands Curtin, but does his best to be a good PI.

THREADGILL
Male, 40s-50s. Scrap metal business owner who does not trust his partner, Brendan Finn. He turns to Curtin for help so he can learn whether or not Finn is committing fraud.

LINDY
Female, 20s-30s. Curtin’s assistant, does an excellent job as the secretary. Is having a love affair with Curtin. Calls everything as she sees it.

LUANNE
Female, 30s to 40s. Beautiful and charming club singer who is “paid to complain”. Knows a little about the investigation Curtin is looking into.

JOHNNY BRANCO
Male, 30s-50s. Owner of a nightclub, which is also a front for gambling. Is open to telling Curtin what he needs to know about the investigation. Calls it like it is to Curtin; asks him why his partners are always morons. Very good businessman.

“AT THE GAZEBO”

CARTER
Male, Late 20s. Troubled wanderer, can’t decide if it is better to be away from home or at home, or what home even means, or who he loves. Wants to win Dorothy’s attention.

DOROTHY
Female, early 20s. Attractive woman, 5 years younger than Carter. Has no problem speaking her mind, when appropriate. Abides by tradition. Autonomous, happy to take the world at face value. Used to have feelings for Carter.

GADSDEN
Male, 40s-60s, African-American. Servant to Carter. Spies on Dorothy for Carter, and gets paid for it. Kind towards Carter.

“THE URBANITES”

CABBIE
Male, 40s. Perpetually disappointed. Trying to move up the ladder financially. Isn’t intelligent enough or wealthy enough to succeed. Blames his wife for this.

WIFE
Female, 40s. Overworked and overtired. Feels like she married an idiot. Definitely smarter than her husband.

JOEY FALCONE
Male, 40s. Unintelligent in the way he speaks. Thinks he is great because he’s honest, but is brutally selfish.

STEVE TUDIK
Male 40s, Slightly more wealthy and definitely smarter than the cabbie. Moving forward in life, as he has a plan to buy himself a taxi.

“INSIDE TALK”

LOU
Male, 40s-50s. Movie producer. Pushy/forceful to get his way. Is a man with big ideas. Sleazy. Has Writer living in his garage, so that he can hang out with young women at the writer’s parties.

EXECUTIVE (JOHN)
Male, 50s. Executive producer for the film company. Calls things as he sees them, and is successful at his job.

JERRY
Male, 60s-70s. Movie producer. A loving Grandfather. He likes his job, and has been doing it for a long time.

WRITER (BRETT AUGENBLICK)
Male, 20s. Film school kid with crazy ideas. Lives in Lou’s garage.
