Preparation
Please prepapre up to 32 bars of music in the style of blues, soul, or jazz. An accompanist will be provided. Please bring your headshot/resume.

**Location Note: Auditions will be in the Carrie Hamilton Theatre. Check-in at the Library. When facing the front of the theater, take the outdoor stairs on your right to the second floor. Walk down the breezeway. The Library is the first door on the left. Signs will be posted to assist you.


A NIGHT WITH JANIS JOPLIN, written and directed by Randy Johnson, in association with The Estate of Janis Joplin and Jeffrey Jampol for JAM, Inc.

Casting: ''THE JOPLINAIRES'' in A NIGHT WITH JANIS JOPLIN.

Multi track roles for 4 women who will portray Janis Joplin’s backing group and will also portray the essence of various Blues, Soul, and Jazz Singers in the following roles:

ETTA JAMES/ BESSIE SMITH, ODETTA, NINA SIMONE, THE CHANTELS, ARETHA FRANKLIN.

One of these roles is required to sing SUMMERTIME from Porgy and Bess in the original Broadway key. There is minimal choreography - basic movement skills required.
