Please prepare a song in the style of the show. Singing from the show is fine. Those actors coming in for Jean Shepherd should prepare a short story-telling monologue.
Please bring a picture and resume, stapled together.

BREAKDOWN
Seeking:
Jean Shepherd (Narrator) Male 40 – 55 Charismatic storyteller with a dynamic speaking voice who can draw the audience into the world of the play. Non-singing.
The Old Man (Lead) Male 30-45 High baritone or tenor to a high G. Good comic ability. He has a good heart but is buried under a rough exterior.
Mother (Lead) Female 28 – 40 Mezzo – soprano Low G to high Db. Good comic ability. She is more in charge than she would ever let anyone know. Warm but strong–willed, straight forward, no nonsense, likable, midwestern – a kind of every-mom.
Miss Shields (Supporting) Female 25-40 Alto belter She is Ralphie’s elementary school teacher. Great with comedy. Character woman. Flexible voice who is comfortable singing both legit and contemporary Broadway. Great mover and a strong tapper.
Santa (Supporting) Male 30-55 Tenor Ill-tempered, inebriated, unhappy with his job.
Additional Adults (Supporting) Male and Female all ages Various ensemble roles as well as covers. All adults need to sing and move well
