[ENSEMBLE/VIOLIN/FIDDLE] open ethnicity, open gender, open age (18yrs +). Seeking a performer that plays VIOLIN/FIDDLE. This performer should have a classical background, be able to read music, and improvise in the Celtic fiddle style. Performer’s should have stage presence and be able to move while playing.
[ORTLE] open ethnicity, open gender; late 20s-40s. Visits Scrooge seeking contributions for a charity to benefit the poor. Non-profit workers, passionate about their cause. Do-gooders. Kind and empathetic towards all people. We are looking for vibrant character types who have strong vocal skills and who can handle the dialect.
[MRS. CRATCHIT] open ethnicity, female; 30s-40s. Bob Cratchit’s wife. She is a gentle, loving and nurturing mother and wife. She is frugal so she can be generous with her children. Mrs. Cratchit always puts her family first. She is hopeful. Although they are poor in wealth, she is rich in family and optimism. Mrs. Cratchit is physically lean. We are looking for actors who have strong vocal skills and who can handle the dialect.
[OLD JOE] open ethnicity, male; 60s-80s. Pawn man of the town. Sleazy and slimy. Does whatever it takes to survive, even if it’s unlawful. Looking for vibrant and unique character types with strong language skills who can handle the dialect.
[SCHOOLMASTER] open ethnicity, open gender; 40s-70s. An upright and uptight sinister Schoolmaster of Ebenezer’s childhood school. A fierce disciplinary figure in Ebenezer’s past. Looking for vibrant and unique character types with strong language skills who can handle the dialect.
[MARTHA/FAN] open ethnicity, female, late teens-early 20s. Martha is the oldest child in the Cratchit family. A diligent worker at the milliners shop. A warm and gentle young women who loves her family and seeks to do what is best for them. Seeking strong singers who can handle the dialect. FAN is Ebenezer’s kind and caring older sister that he has a strong bond with. Like MARTHA, she is also a warm and gentle memory for Ebenezer.
